Not true. You can repair every faction standing, even a standing of -10 with a faction and all its friendly factions as long as you have access to any corp of these factions. You only must have done at least one mission for a corp in the past before your faction standing dropped below -5. Corp standing doesn't change when your faction standing changes due to important storyline missions (except the storyline agent who gave you the mission is from that corp). Personally I have repaired my Caldari (and the derived Amarr) standing a little bit in this way: Some time ago I had a Caldari standing below -5; but because I had done one or two Ishukone mission in my very early days I had still a 0.1 or 0.2 standing with Ishukone and access to at least some level 1 agents which allowed me to do missions for them, improve the corp standing until I reached level 2 and level 3 agents, get storyline missions and to improve faction standing.
Originally by: Akita T -5.000000001 corp/agent standing ? Bye bye corp. Forever. No way to repair it. No really, no way whatsoever. None.
Not true again. If your faction standing is above -5 (and Diplomacy high of course) you can have access to the corp's agents because agents require a minimum personal, corp OR faction standing (emphasis on OR).
Having a <-5 standing with a corp or agent is a rare situation because you need to fail missions for them very often to come to this point.
The first case is more common because you need only to work very exclusively for one faction and do its storyline missions to reach a bad standing with the opposite faction. To avoid that this faction and all its corps closes its doors completely for you it is very recommendable to do early enough at least one mission for all factions. The corps you've run the missions for will let a backdoor open for you even though a very small one to only their crappiest level 1 agents.

Wrong. Because they hardcoded it that after -2.0 faction, you can no longer access agents from that faction. Trust me, i cant run caldari agents anymore. Just look at my standings (<3 10.0)

I am confused You can't run missions for Kaalakiota although you have 4.21 standing with them? How was I able to repair my Caldari standing? Or is that <-2.0 rule younger than a year or so?

No idea how it was a while ago, but now it's Corp AND Faction effective standing over -2.0, for ALL agents, as a bare minimum (-5.0 w/ Diplo L5). IMHO, they should change that to -4.99999 effective (everything except a "perfect -10.0" gets there with Diplo L5, and there's no such thing as "perfect -10").
Although, they specifically said once that they have made it so agent>corp>faction standing especially so you could access an agent or a corp you used to work for even if you "broke" it with the faction (or corp). Well, apparently, they mean "slightly broke it", not "completely hated now". __ Always question everything. Including yourself. |

Related to this topic ...
Ive done some Caldari / Amarr missions in the past, but mostly have done Gallante. I've got like -3.4 with Caldari (faction) but +4.15 with Caldari Navy (corp). I will have no problems doing missions for Caldari will I? (provided I dont let the corp standing drop too much) What happens if the faction drops below -5? will Caldari sentries shoot me because of low faction? or will the + corp standing over-ride the faction ??

If you have -3.4 EFFECTIVE with Caldari, you can't do any missions for any Caldari agent. If you have -3.4 BASE standing, you need some levels in diplomacy to increase it over -2.0 EFFECTIVE, then you can run missions again for Caldari navy. That much I know for sure, of the current state of affairs.
If faction drops under -5.0 (NOT sure if it's base or effective, I fear it's base rather than effective), then the faction SHIPS near the gates would start shooting at you. The gateguns however, I think they only shoot at -5.0 *owner corp* standing. Again, not compleyely sure of any of this. __ Always question everything. Including yourself. |

Actually this is not true. A friend of mine had a -8 with sansha nation. And had done a lvl 1 mission for an agent prior to that. He could still acces that agent and actually was able to get a negative standing with sansha and a positive standing with true power. The first one used diplomatics and the second used negotiations.
But you need to have done atleast one mission and have personal standing with that agent before you get to the negative parter.
On a different scale: If you got guristas negative, angel negative sansha negative but you dont have blood raiders negative. Than you can grind blood raiders to up sansha, sansha to up angel, angel to up guristas and than finally go for your rattlesnake. Problem is though if you do this you will never be able to fly in save space again. . Seriously Have I Not Said How I Can Assist Some One You Are Killing Online? |

OMG, what a confusion! That's quite the contrary to Dust Angel's post. Indeed this is exactly how I thought it works with faction, corp and agent standings. If this is true the Edit-correction in my post above is wrong and the original statement is correct
Dust Angel, it would really interest me if you have access to any Kaalakiota agent or not.
