Hey matey's.
I hope you can help me with something. Recently I have bought meself a Apoc. I like this ship a lot cause it can have a great tank and remain in battle for quite some time. There is one problem however. And this is firepower!
Currently I have loaded it with Mega Pulselasers with multifreq crystals. But the damage output i get is really pathetic. between 35 and 150 dps. How is this possible ? I have fitted a heatsink as well..
Anyone has an idea ? thanx in advance. Dutch

A web works wonders, oh and you are sitting at 10-15k from the rats arnt you? the range falls off prety quickly with lasers. (take some uv crystals for 20k ranges)

my exact setup is:
6 MEGA PULSE LASERS with multifreq crystals 1 x sensor boost 2 x tracking comp 1 x heatsink the rest is armor tanking in the lows.
Yesterday i was shooting NPC battleships in 0.0 space. and i just could not kill em!! I have over 8m skillpoints. This is pathetic. any idea.. or is it just the guns that are the problem ?
thanx.

Which npcs are you shooting at?
If you're trying to pop guristas bses good luck they tank EM.
Sansha/blood should be weakest to EM/thermal damage.
Angel the strongest.

and like a previous poster said, lasers are VERY range sensitive. you need to be inside the optimal in order to get good damage from them.

Edited by: Lucian Alucard on 27/02/2006 10:22:07 First can you use t2 armor hardeners? Second have you tried training the Armor Compensation skills? Because for most lvl 3 missions I do all i need is a 3 mod tank and 3 heat sinks 2, whats your gunnery like?
Energy turrets are finicky but do good damage, you WILL need a weby and target painter,or at webby drones this will allow your guns to hit better, word of addvice for NPCing you only need Multifreqs usually for the frigs if you are running short on drones,I know some of the Guristas go bonkers when you deploy drones.
I use,
6 Mega Pulse 2 2 Heavy Diminishing Nos
1 Named Cap Booster ((with 800 charges)) 2 x5 Prototype webby or better T2 Target Painter
Large Vestement Armor Rep 1 t2 energised adaptive nano 1 Dark Blood passive hardener depends on what I will be fighting 3-4 heat sink 2 or 1 cap relay
I also keep some t2 hammerheads with me or I use a mix of webby drones and combat drones the webby drones let me use a cap recharger up top

Ratting setup for sanshas
2x Tachs 4x Mega Beam 2x T2 Mediums
4x Cap Rechargers
1x T2 Large armor rep 3x Active armor hardener (1 em 2 thermal for sansha) 2x Heatsink 1x Cap relay
Can tank forever, even deep 0.0 (3x 1.5m spawns cant break it) and am getting quite nice damage from the guns. Good at 30k, better at 15k |

If you can't use t2 mega pulses, buy the best named ones...

That lot doesnt fit its 17cpu short, might fit with N-Types though, anyway i prefer to fly around with (vs sanshas)
6 MP II 2 Arb. Heavys 1 100MN AB, 1 Webby, 2 Cap Charger II's 2 Thermal T2 Hardner, 1 EM T2 Hardner, 2 Large "Accoms" (CPU) and 2 CPR + 7 Medium Drones
Does the Job nicely, can also sort out frigs with the heavy launchers and the webby ensures any cruisers/tackling frigs think twice...
