The Bloodlines patch deployment will take place on Thursday, 2 March at 1100 GMT. We are estimating a 4 hour deployment time and Tranquility should return with the new content by 1500 GMT. As always, we recommend training a long-duration skill. Patch Notes have been recently updated with some new items that were added over the weekend. You will see these new items highlighted in green.
In conjunction with the new Bloodlines deployment, we are also making the 'EVE Online- Power of 2' offer available again. This is in response to a number of player requests and to (hopefully) make up for slipping the Bloodlines release date for so long. You can read more about the Power of 2 (P^2) offer in Hellmar's newest Dev Blog.

Still would like to know how big of a patch it will be? Common at least let us prep for it. Telling us it will be four hour down time means very little, if the 56k users face another 8-10 hour download after down time.
Free-form Professions, ensure no limetations on professions. Be a trader, fighter, industialist, researcher, hunter pirate or mixture of them all.

Ahh, nice to see the EVE^2 promotion. Pity I dont live in the U.S., getting caught for VAT (10$ extra) is a bit of a downer.
Will the account at the end of the 6 months be subject to an additional activation fee, like the 14+30day trial accounts?
Like activating a 30day trial account with a 50day etc, costs 20days, leaving you with 30days play time?

Power of 2 offer = good. But why only with Credit Cards? I got my current second account with PayByCash and the previous Power of 2 offer, and it all worked mighty fine. I was planning on getting a third account purely for the new Bloodlines, and a Power of 2 offer would greatly help me out.

I would say that the size of the 3807-3895 test patch would be a good indication (which is around 72Mb). While it seems large, bear in mind that it will have to contain the entire modelling and texture resources for the new bloodlines - that's 4 bloodlines, male and female for each, so 8 new facial models, and the entire skin, hair, clothing, background etc sets to go with them.

Can this offer be applied to an account that has already been created? I made an account just before RMR just to use the new Bloodlines which were meant to come out then, and still am waiting for them to come out so I can make my Asian character...

Uh, this was already changed on TQ. As it stands you can only mount mercoxit mining crystals on modulated deep core strip miners. Modulated Deep Core Miner IIs do not currently accept merc crystals - is there a fix for this in the patch?

No! When re-activating after the 6 months you will subject to the normal subscription fees and can choose between a 1,3,6 or 12 month sub.

(for those not monitoring Alli's hairstyle as closely as I do, he has recently changed his hair to the exact same style as his portrait, made eons ago, talk about commitment).

To Delenn- kieron updated the post/blog to say that creation after 23 February can be transferred to a P^2 account.
Which leads to my question: Is that date a strict limitation or is it possible for people who created a second account a little earlier (6 days) to also take advantage?

We started a trail account using our buddy codes. We activiated our account Friday for billing. Which date do we use. Does the trial time even though it was free make it so we cant do this promo?
we started the trial account exactly 14 days ago but didnt activate until this past friday. We would love to be able to use this offer. Thanks.

In the first power of two "campaign" you could get an additional account for which you would only pay half for the first six months (so pay for 3 play for 6 months), after that time you'd have to switch to normal rates or cancel the account. I'm pretty sure the power of two campaign only works if you already have an active account and want another one by the way.

Professor McFly, I apologize, but we cannot offer a grace period dating back that far. Depending on how many characters are on your account, it might be worthwhile to look into purchasing a P^2 account and using the character transfer service.
MysticNZ, yes, but think about 6 months of game play for the price of 3.
Rac'gev, the accounts petitioning for the grace period will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Unfortunately, I do not have an answer at this very moment.

Good news for those who have just created their second account.
From News at login:
Updated information: We will be offering a grace period for
players that have purchased a second account in preparation for the
Bloodlines update. If you created a secondary account after 0000
GMT on Thursday, 23 February, you may 'exchange' that account for
a P^2 account. To do so, you must create a P^2 account and file a
petition. The GM team will review the petition, transfer character(s)
from the secondary account to the new P^2 account, close billing on
the secondary account and refund the amount paid. Due to the
limitations of the billing system, only accounts created with credit
cards can be refunded.
NOTE: The grace period is only for secondary accounts. No transfers
will be made from primary accounts to a P^2 account.

Somtimes CCP are a pain!
BUT then I am sometimes amazed at how cool CCP are. This a great offer, and I will be taking you up on it. What other MMORG would look after its customers this way? Not many I think.

I'm thinking about this.
Lets say on a regular basis I bought the game and 6 months... Would that be like 80 euro? (I'm assuming for the use of the client, like "buying a copy of the game". And then 61 for the 6 months?
Or am I wrong? 20 euro for the initial purchase and a free month, then 60 for six months?
Either way, I assume i'ma saving 30 euros?
So instead of 14 euros for 5 months (first month free regularly) = 70 euros plus the initial purchase +20 = ... well 90 euros.

What about this. I make a new account on this deal, train my new character and Izo both on the two accounts, and at the end of the 6 months, I transfer one of the characters back to one account, leaving me only able to train one, but having my two characters to a good level, especially Izo.
That works, right? And thanks for putting up with this hideous mess of a post, that was literally my thought process, poor maths, random ideas and general shock at the profits your making.

Keiron i must ask when will players only able to use PBC be allowed to transfer chars via PBC or GTC, this have been asked and if i remeber correctly said that it would be looked in to.
As it stands now we can't open a new account and get the benefits of this offer nor can we transfer chars because we don't have a cc, starts to feel like we are worth less as customers just because we don't have cc.

I dont understand much that dev blog. I have my primary accnt I play. After that patch I can make second accnt for 49,95 which is cool. But what I dont understand is that words about transfer fee 20$. Does it mean that If I transfer one of my character from primary accnt to that new made second accnt and I will petition it they will return that fee 20$ for transfer character? Thx

This sucks I already had 5 accounts and I made a 6th just for the new bloodlines way back when they were originally meant to be released. Now i'll end up having 8!!! lol. Well it's not as if it's gonna hurt my wallet any more than it is now, i only use 2 accounts regularly anyway, hehe.

In the EU it will cost you Ç49.99, which is which on your credit card will show as UKú34.
If you were in the US, you would be paying $49.99, which is UKú28.63

MysticNZ, the original P^2 offer was for the same period of time, including the subscription pricing. We have to be able to pay for stuff like the Yaardware somehow!
Malak V, If you created a second account within the last 5 days for the purpose of utilizing it for the Bloodlines patch, that account would fall under the grace period and be eligible for the free character transfer from the secondary account to the P^2 account. Character transfers from your main account to a secondary or P^2 account will be subject to the transfer fee.
Avana, yes and no need to create a random character unless you want to. You do not have to use a P^2 account for new bloodline characters only.

I am sorry I am a little bit confused. You want to purchase the EVE^2/P^2 Account, and you can, since you already have a Normal/Paid Account.

Ok, so its just as I thought, you were asking if it is somehow possible to use the current trial/un-paid account with the P^2 offer. No, it is not possible, however, you should read up the original Dev Blog/and all the posts made by Kieron in this thread. You will notice that some accounts have the "Grace" period, if Activated/Opened within sertain time. I am not exactly sure how it will work, but it involves petitioning. And in my book if you have to petition for something, unless you really, really, really, want it - it is not worth it.
Now, my advise would be to chuck the Noob account ALT and go with the P^2 offer. But, again, this is just what I would do to make my life less complicated.

I assume its a way of getting half price accounts. Only why?! So new guys coming into the game pay less money than me? a loyal customer for the past year?! (yes yes I know I can create a second account, but why cant I get the discount for my current account?!).
Rather rubbish offer to be honest unless you enjoy playing as a multi, or are a new guy to the game.

Erm, you need to own an account before you can take advantage of the power of 2 offer. New players coming into the game with only 1 account have to pay the same startup and monthly fees as you and everyone else.

A lot of these questions were answered in the Devblog:
-You can only use a CREDIT CARD (or a debit card as long as it has a VISA or whatever logo on it)
-You have to own an account already to take advantage of the P^2 offer. It allows you to purchase another account for 6 months at a one time fee of $50 or so.
-There is a grace period for people who just created another account from what I understand. Sift through the 4 pages already in this topic, the question was answered about switching to the P^2 type.

Uh, this was already changed on TQ. As it stands you can only mount mercoxit mining crystals on modulated deep core strip miners. Modulated Deep Core Miner IIs do not currently accept merc crystals - is there a fix for this in the patch?

all that will happen is ppl will cancel subby, start a new account, transfer over existing chars, then get the free chars that way. Rather than letting us have the chars from the start.

Yes indeed. I love EVE, but it niggles that I can't do some useful things like change my char portrait and other things just because I use PBC.
I cannot afford a credit card. I play EVE because I like it and it is a loads cheaper way to socialise then going out.

started trial on 10 aug and activated it to full aswel on 10 aug as trial are too limetid with training etc, now if i would have activated at end of trial i would have had the offer as it would have been 24 aug, really disapointed about this, with all the accounts i have i miss the nice offers

Skill attributes make a difference, but are not uber. How you shape your character is one of the things that makes EvE what it is - whether you like it or hate it.
SP can be adjusted using Learning, or simply restarting. This is a basic message I pass to the 3-day newbs I happen to chat with in local as I consider whether I would want them in my corp or not. However, when you are three months restarting may not be a path you want to follow.
They make a difference in the mods you can use, ships you can fly, etc.. But, especially the lvl5 "achievements" are something for a player to feel proud of. Part of the "unhappiness" I would feel if CCP changed the requirements for current skills is the "cheat" for the time I "wasted" while training to rank 3/4/5 level 5 skills and also partly for the degradation of my "achievements".
Denebola is my second character. What started as an alt is now a main. And Denebola has been much more successful in learning the skills that count to fulfill a role. IMHO the "problem" with SP is the complexity of the skill relationships.
As a CEO training newb players, giving them advice I have learned a lot about how skill points should be acquired. And my newbs are playing more effectively in two months than I was at 6 (or more) largely because I try to force them to make a decision about what they want to achieve right now. And help them formulate their goals for three months down the road.
imho, much more than skills, the corp or alliance you join determines your short term effectiveness. The corp/alliance is capable of giving you "things" (isk/skill books/ships/guideance) to enhance their effectiveness.
But, on the issue of learning, from all my newbs who have played WoW, Guild, etc. they all mention the "offline" skill training as a great benefit; and they are actually glad that at three months they are an "amoeba" rather than maxed out. Everyday they see a new challange, a new direction, etc..
The SP gap? A year ago I worried a lot about that, because I had so few compared to others. I always felt their alts had more than my main. Atm I have a character with 20M+ SP, and Denebola with less than 5M SP. And I am probably doing much more with Denebola than with my old main. Both have their roles, but for now, for me, Denebola has the most satisifying role. And this is what I try to focus on with new players - what do you want to do today? And then discuss a training plan to help them enhance their effectiveness at doing that.
Skills and skillpoints are attributes of a feature - character growth management (to give it a label) - that used well can lead to some powerful roleplay in a short time. Used poorly, to headaches and disatification.

The learning system in EvE has been one of the stable elements - and I fear the consequences of it being changed. But if their is one skill I try to instill in all my new corp members is the one I have found most helpful in enjoying this game - and that is to expect the unexpected, and never expect the game to be tomorrow what it is today. The world changes, EvE changes, you get podded. It is part of what makes EvE "EvE". In other words, if you can't deal with the unexpected, unreversible changes that are inherrent in the game - find a different game. (And still I hope they dont change skill development much!

Could someone offical let me know if this situation is allowable under the Power of 2 promo.?
I am a since retail release vet so my 2nd acct is 2+ yrs old
but i am INTERESTED in opening a 4th acct to experiment with the new bloodlines while creating a POS caretaker alt and later paying the $20 fee to transfer in a transport alt who could service a raw mining POS with fuel on inbound leg, load the mined raw material and on the return leg haul it to 2nd POS mining the other raw moon min where it would be reacted at the 2nd POS. The 3rd slot could be for the 2nd POS' caretaker alt.
Been considering doing this anyway for a while but the initial disc on subscription makes me lot more willing to take the plunge.
