Precious metal ship models - any interest?

Clone 410	Posted - 2006.02.28 09:53:00 - [1] Looking for possible interest here, just a feasibility query. Also keen to know what CCP view of this would be - don't want to tread on any toes. To the point: My girlfriend is a jeweller. She makes jewellery. She may be able to make a couple of EVE ship models in precious metal, probably silver, possibly inset with gems in appropriate places. These would be fairly small (say 5cm long) and probably pretty expensive (think several 100 ú, at least). They would also be hand made, to order and unique. I stress this is only an information gathering exercise. If CCP don't like this then it won't happen. If there's massive interest (which I doubt) then it won't be possible - these things may take a couple of months to make, it's fine art here :) So, let me know what you think, thanks.

Understood, I'll try and get her to make some price estimates tonight and will photograph some of her other work so you can get an idea of her level of skill. Of course she's done nothing like this before, it's all been fine jewellery, but you'll hopefully be able to get an idea of the standard she can work to.

Very nice ;-) Like the idea of the small ships aswell, there was another thread of soemone making miniature EVE ships (picture of an apoc) in metal. I liked it but, same problem as with this. They have no real function. With that i mean, you cannot really 'wear' them and they are to small to display.
