So, I know smart bombs are not everyone's cup of tea. But I would love to see a ship class of each type (frigate-destroyer-etc) that was set up to power smart bombs as well as get boost into this area. Prefer that these be T2 versions of the hull.
If anything I would settle for a pirate ship that would give boost to each family damage according to the skill level of the ship class linked to the ship.
I.e. Pirate ship Bah Boomy
Amarr Frigate increases range of EM based smart bombs per level
Amarr Frigate increases damage of EM based smart bombs per level
Etc etc.
If not. Can someone share a workable smart bomb ship for gallente

I think it makes more sense to integrate some smartbomb bonuses into some T1 hulls. Might be cool to have some T2 smartbomb ships though. Thing is, EVE isn't supposed to have a lot of AoE, so smartbombs are already supposed to be highly situational. Since T2 ships are highly specialized, one specializing in smartbombs won't be much good at anything else.
I'd like to see a higher level of generalization in T1 hulls with the advent of trade-off capability. Ships could have two separate skill bonuses in place of one, provided any given part can only use one of the bonuses. For instance, a ship with 5 high slots, 5 turret hardpoints, 5 launcher hardpoints, a 10% bonus to hybrid optimal range, 10% bonus to kinetic missile damage, 7.5% reduction in capacitor cost of kinetic smartbombs, and 4% shield resist per level -- it'll never be more powerful than a ship with 2 skill bonuses, but it has a lot more room for specialization. That's an extreme example of course, actual tech 1 ships could follow along that idea without going that far.
You wanted a Gallente smartbomb ship? I have one for you - Incursus:
This is following with my idea that the t1 versions of the Stealth Bomber hulls should be themselves a bomber-style ship.
Incursus
3 high slots
3 turret hardpoints
5% bonus to small hybrid turret damage per level
10% bonus to thermal smartbomb damage per level
7.5% bonus to armor repairer effectiveness per level
Also, I want the Tormentor to be the logi frigate for Amarr, and to bring back the missile Inquisitor:
Inquisitor
3 high slots
3 launcher hardpoints
2 mid slots
4 low slots
10% bonus to EM missile damage
5% bonus to thermal, kinetic, and explosive missile damage
10% bonus to EM smartbomb damage per level
Fit a warfare link to your tech 1 battlecruiser. Train Wing Commander. Get in the Squad Commander or Wing Commander position. Your fleets will be superior to everyone else's. |

Gallente are great for smartbomb ships because they already have in-your-face brawlers, like the Thorax. Why not throw it a role bonus which cuts thermal smartbomb range in half and doubles their damage? Could be some interesting uses for that. On the flip side, the Moa could have a role bonus doubling the range of kinetic smartbombs but cutting their damage in half.
