If all those people only willing to make money by fighting can't chainspawn anymore I suggest they find alternate ways of money making by fighting.
Like actual bountyhunting (thich will become more and more profitable as soon as pirates actually start getting caught)
Or merc escort and security stuff.
Anyway unless you're really good I don't think you will get as much as you would have gotten before, but thats'the tradeoff:
More fun means less pay. And things like trading are just a pain in the ass only they just pay well. --- soonÖ |

I believe the chain spawning is in by design. If not one or two cruisers could keep a Bistot belt cleared of rats. The only reason they can't generally do it now is they can't kill the rats quick enough before more spawn.
Taking the reinforcement ability out of the Pirate spawns would be a mistake. It would make high end ore much easier to mine and life much more dull for people that like to farm rats instead of mine or be a pirate.

Quote: How about they just make numbers more random, sometimes reinforcement comes, sometimes the last pirate warps out to save his own ass, sometimes 20+ pirates show at the same time.
Whoever said it was the PCs option to control NPC pirate activity?
Completely agree... it should be made random...
Chain spawning wouldn't happen irl. It is not up to the players to decide when they get their next batch of pirates.
As it stands atm people who can chain spawn make way to much money for their efforts. It is unbalanced.
People complaining about it should get a grip on reality and take advantage of it until (if) it is fixed.

Hang on a minute! What's balanced about mining in a battleship? When was the last time you saw an aircraft carrier with its fishing nets out? This is *******s, if you want an RL situation, why don't your mining lasers break down, electronic components fail during warp, pirate spawns actually work together and use in game mods. etc etc
I'm not saying I would necessarily object to any of these things being in-game (or being nerfed as case may be), but balance is not a relevant point.

Even mining in a battleship aint as profitable as chain spawning pirates - and u can chain spawn in cruisers!

Chaining or gatecamping shouldn't even be possible in sovereign space as the claimant should send sizable fleets to rid their belts and gates of the intruders.
With this in place we'd rid ourselves of alliances unreasonable claims.
