I'm a gallente fan and I wanted to make an ares fit able to challenge the crow as a dedicated scout/tackler. Reqs I need for an inti is to also be able to scram as well as be able to lock far enough if i have links. Let me know what you guys think.
[Ares, Ares Tackle Rubicon] Overdrive Injector System II Damage Control II Nanofiber Internal Structure II 200mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I
1MN Microwarpdrive II Warp Scrambler II Warp Disruptor II
75mm Gatling Rail II 75mm Gatling Rail II Rocket Launcher II
Small Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer II Small Ionic Field Projector II
EHP: 4,237 DPS: 62 Speed: 4,501 m/s Align: 3.8s Warp: 10Au/s Lock range: 49.5km
(none of the stats posted is overheated) |

Why don't you use 3 turrets ? with the hull bonus you will be able to hit at long point range (for what its worth). Even spike ammo should hit anything at any range with all that tracking. |

Your plate counteracts your nano and overdrive, as if you've left those slots empty. The Ares is sub par to the Crow and Stiletto for the sole reason of having 3 mids. You can't run MWD/Long point/scram without A) having no tank, or B) bring slow and Armour buffered. A true ares is fit for pure speed, like this:
Ares: Man tackle
Highs: Light Neutron blaster II (x2) [Empty High Slot]
Mids: Limited 1mn Microwarpdrive I Warp Disruptor II Faint Epsilon Warp Scrambler I
Lows: Damage Control II Overdrive Injector System II (x2) Signal Amplifier II
Rigs: Small Polycarbon Engine Housing I Small Ionic Field Projector I I wear my goggles at night.
Any spelling/grammatical errors come complimentary with my typing on a phone |

I would be more interested in popping warriors if rockets are any good at that over rails i'd go with rockets. let me know if i'm wrong.

I agree the plate does counteract the nano/overdrive however it's the only way to get enough ehp out of it for the inti to not die if you blink at it. A tackle crow I believe will have around an ehp of 4,700 but it's also slower and has less agility. I need to be able to take a hit if i'm going for a scram. |

[Ares, Robin]
Damage Control II Nanofiber Internal Structure II Nanofiber Internal Structure II Capacitor Power Relay II
Balmer Series Tracking Disruptor I, Optimal Range Disruption Script Limited 1MN Microwarpdrive I Warp Disruptor II
125mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S 125mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S 125mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
Small Anti-Explosive Pump I Small Hybrid Locus Coordinator I
Stats (level 5 skills) - burns ~4300 m/sec - deals ~70 dps @ 12km optimal, 6km falloff - aligns in 2.1 seconds - capacitor power lasts 3.5 minutes with everything on (cap stable with either the guns or tracking disruptor off) - has ~2800 ehp (a stiff wind can kill it) Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective. |

An EANM instead of the plate, might make you faster with better resists. Speed and syg should be as good as the plate.
3 guns = less things to click, when your doing your *real* job. Which is tackle. You're gonna outrun drones anyway.
Just my opinion. I hate plates on Interceptors. |

I needs scram for what I do so this fit wont work for me.

The EANM II only give 300 EHP The plate gives you 1200 EHP and cost you 200 m/s and 0.2sec align time.
Thought about a Reinforced Bulkheads II for proper manly gallente hull tanking but these are terrible, you lose 500 m/s.
Assuming all V.
Unfortunately for frigate it looks like nothing beat the Medium Shield Extender. |

This is something that my corpies and I have been experimenting with for an Interceptor gang. Just be sure to spread the tracking disruptors on all threats.
[Ares, New Setup 1]
Damage Control II Adaptive Nano Plating II Small Ancillary Armor Repairer, Nanite Repair Paste 200mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I
Experimental 1MN Afterburner I Warp Scrambler II Balmer Series Tracking Disruptor I, Tracking Speed Disruption Script
Light Ion Blaster II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S Light Ion Blaster II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S Light Ion Blaster II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
Small Ancillary Current Router I Small Ancillary Current Router I
Stats (Level 5 skills): - burns ~1300 m/sec - deals ~100 dps @ 1.4km optimal, 2.5km falloff (~85dps @ 3.9 + 3.5 with Null ammo) - aligns in ~3 seconds - capacitor power lasts ~50 second with everything on (cap stable @ ~70% with the repper off) - has ~5100 ehp - if you trade the blasters for 75mm rails you can drop the Ancillary Rigs in favor of something else. Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective. |

Protip on the Ares (and Ranis):
Never, ever, under no circumstances, fit nanofibers. Unless you don't fit a Damage Control.
Why?
Because Nanofibers reduce your hull. The Gallente Frigs have some quite outstanding hull compared to most otherships, and are often in a place where shield and armor are stripped they still have more than 50% of their EHP. Overdrive Injectors are what you're looking at, and if you need more agility, get a Nozzle rig. Along with a targeting range rig. |
