This is a weird thing with sentrys, and I really have only begun to notice it lately, but when I stay still I take less dmg than when I move, but once I move I take more dmg and if I stop again its still doing the same.
Also when Im shooting a person I take less sentry dmg, when they pop the sentrys apear to do more.
I dunno if its just me, or has anyone else had these problems?

I think the problem is that you will be using an expensive ship full to the brim of t2/faction goodies to do this. In other words, you will be a juicy target for anyone else who happens to pass through. And that will include pirates, anti-pirates, and people looking to make a buck.
Are you absolutely sure this person has no friends, and cannnot offer anyone isk in exchange for help? If they call out in local someone may answer. Is the system quiet?

I took out a frighter solo in a .4 sec system. I was in a tempest. Tho at the time i was not just setup to gank a freighter and tank the sents, but if you want some advice ill help you out.
6 425 t2's 2 heavy nos
1 20k scram 1 100mn t2 ab 1 905 web 2 heavy cap boosters (electromechanical)
2 Large t2 reps 3 t2 armor hardeners(expl therm kenetic) 1 gyro 2
drone bay of berserkers once the shield is down.
Start off with Phased plasma on the shield, (this because EMP does explosive dmg too and you do more overall dmg against the shield with phased plasma). Once you hit the armor switch to fusion and launch the drones. you can run the tank for a long time and with 12 boosters in your hold you should be good for 10min. keep in mind i have BS5 and all relative gun skills to 5 and spec 4, but it can be done. Also remember that freighters do NOT drop cans and it can just be a huge waste of time. better off ransoming them imho.

You might be able to do it with two heavy cap boosters on a thron or apoc and a 2x LAR2 tank, using a hauler to eject cap booster charges.

I've popped 3 and ransomed some more in the past - never done it tanking sentries though.

Yup, that's why its not uncommon to see a freighter running around in 0.0 with no escort. Excellent job CCP...
And that's just 1 of two huge logout flaws right now...

One thing I would like to know is how do freighters get repaired? given that the build cost of a freighter is something like 700mill isk and u have taken this ship to structure if the repair costs are similar to waht is charged when a bs is in structure his repair bill must be several hundred mill isk surely? And as no mods can be fitted there is no way to repair it alone.I guess remote reppers can be used on it but that is a rather slow process too.Anyone have any info on this?

No, you nailed it. Why do you think there is this sudden clamour for remote hull repairers? If you have freighter hull damage, expect your wallet to hurt.

Took a freighter to hull dmg with me and another guy lack of webs :( but he mailed me back and said it cost him 850mil and he had about 15k hull hp left.

keeping in mind the costs of repairs on a freighter it might be enough to just take him to mid hull a few times a week
make his wallet hurt, if he's spending ~800m, 3 or 4(or more) times a week to fix it, he might move to a 'less profitable' but more secure trade route ----------- /wtb Eris in a cage  Sorry, she's not for sale. You are right, it might be a solution. And good point is I will not get so big security hit as for destroying his ship.
