Got the source of the problem on my comp: Avira Antivirus  . Just deactivate Antivir before you are starting the launcher, voila... patch downloaded and applied in seconds. |

Turning off my anti virus .. and firewall never works for me certainly not today yesterday and the day before and all the way back to wotever patch it was this first started happpening after 9 years of seemless playing.
fed up now. 5 days left on sub .. to decide to **** eve off forever. |

I got an error today here: http://pastebin.com/UMtcbmrR
I've run the repair tool and it seems to run fine.
I was online prior to DT, went to bed feeling ill and my launcher was running when i got back up and without thinking i just logged in. Obviously the launcher threw an error and tried updating then wouldnt launch.
I ran the repair tool which worked (ran it twice all good both times)
And now launching eve I get the above error.
Win 8.1 64bit
HD7970 with 14.1 drivers.

sorry mate, i cant help,
i've look for about 8h to solve the probelm and it's not the computer not really the launcher.
the probelm concern the routing and the launcher
i patched my client @ work with a my smartphone ... so now i'm sure, the problem is not the computer i use @ work.
btw ccp cant help you

Ok thanks, done that but launcher still crashes
it goes to about 15% on the bar below then turns red and shows me a small window with a load of tekst wich makes no sense to me.
last time this happend was last patch and i had to reinstall game ( yesterday or the day before)
it happens since i switched from win7 32bit to win7 64bit.
Since then on every update i get this launcher problem.
Any idea what i can do besides reinstalling the game again and again?

clean the cache launcher ? x:\CCP\EVE\launcher
try to repair then patch again ?
i use 2 win7 64b* (one fail the other no) so dont blame the OS
and both use the same antivirus, i'm full admin on both. the only difference i've dynamic IP@home and static IP@work (+heavy firewall)
you can also reinstall the launcher

Im filing a petition for a refund of time. FFS, I should not be downloading this game at ~5 KB/S.
While I am glad that CCP finally made the upgrade to Dialup, -THIS IS RIDICULOUS-
Thanks for everyone else who has actually done anything to help people get this upgraded.
CCP get your damn **** together or you will continue to lose players like me who have been playing for extremely long times. |
