Should be working, appears we have a defect.
For some reason it's failing to get the authentication token. Investigating now. Feel free to poke me on: Twitter |

Okay Twitch is on the test servers guys and appears to work. Have at it and give us your feedback.
Please note that this is a fairly basic implementation, we want to see how useful this is to you all and if this is something you want us to pursue. Feel free to poke me on: Twitter |

The resolution constraints come from twitch.tv, so sadly there isn't much we can do about that. |

Same here. I do run EVE in fixed window mode at 1920x1080, but that resolution is not available on TwitchTV settings.
Anyway, unless a lot of features are planned for it it will be very hard to use it instead of a full featured - highly configurable third party software like Open Broadcaster and many others.
We are not looking to compete with out of client broadcasting tools, but rather give people a taste. We want to see what kind of interest there is in the feature and then build on that.
We would like to allow players to stream a resolution independently of their clients resolution, but as a first implementation this was scoped out.
You can expect more details in a Dev Blog which should be out soon. Feel free to poke me on: Twitter |

Vincent Athena wrote:I tried it and it failed totally. After entering in a name and password and pressing Start stream, the window shrank to a a smaller size and was filled with multicolored tiled mish mash. The client froze for about a minute then displayed
"Unhandeled page fault on read access to 0x0000140c at address 0x741c0b2b5"
I also tried telling it to use the same resolution as my screen. The window stayed the same size, but it still went weird, froze and had the exception. Even entering in a incorrect name and password cases the failure.

Thanks for your detailed information. Unfortunately we have had to disable twitch.tv streaming on the Mac due a technical blocker relating to how we emulate EVE on Macs. But we're looking into it. CCP Maverick | EVE Quality Assurance | Team Game of Drones |

Destoya wrote:Tried this out last night, everything worked fine from a technical standpoint, but the frame rate/stream quality was a bit of a disappointment from what I hoped for. Frame rate dropped significantly every time I rotated the camera. I haven't played with the third party streaming tools so I dont really have any means of comparison though. I'll post system specs but I dont really think that was an issue.
i7 920 @ 4.0GHz 2x GTX 460 in SLI 12GB 1600MHz memory Windows 8.1 Pro x64 1 client at 1920x1200 in fixed window mode, second screen showing desktop Internet is 100Mb/100Mb so I can't imagine that's a bottleneck on my end
We've added a framerate selection box so you can now tailor your stream even more. CCP Maverick | EVE Quality Assurance | Team Game of Drones |

I'm trying different resolutions (all weird, cant do 1920x1080) but it just seems to log me out. I've tried making a new user account that correlates to the character being used but the username is already taken so no joy there
I was looking forward to this, even if its just for a giggle
System Specs 8GB DDR3 2100Mhz i5 3570 nvidia GTX 560Ti Windows 7 64
Screens 2x 23.5" Viewsonic 2365-LED 1920x1080
I hope this is fixable anyways, I know twitch can be a bit unstable in some parts of the UK though
If you were changing resolution as you were stream you would have been logged out automatically. And I can feel your pain at having your twitch.tv user name taken - Maverick is quite popular it would seem! CCP Maverick | EVE Quality Assurance | Team Game of Drones |

1) Minimize the twitch login screen once logged in 2) Rightclick/Disconnect from twitch without bringing up the login menu 3) Attempt to get 1920 by 1080 working.
Other than that, it works (least for me).
Thanks for the detailed feedback! We shall take it all on board. CCP Maverick | EVE Quality Assurance | Team Game of Drones |

any chance to make the stream resolution slave to the client resolution (opposite of how it is right now)
how would I go about adding my microphone to the twitch stream? sometimes I do instructional things for other players, other times I like to add music. can i add music to the stream?
Twitch will stream all your computer sounds so as long as your computer is picking up your mic input you should be able to use it. Likewise with any music playing in the background. CCP Maverick | EVE Quality Assurance | Team Game of Drones |
