K guys it really is simple. The patch has been flagged for at least a month with a definate date at least a week ago. Yes it is possible you could have missed it, but thats hardly ccp's fault. In fact is anything the communication this time has been better than ever before.
Also it strikes me as to how easy it is to critise, I saw very little on here when the server upgrade finished 7 hours early saying well done ccp.
and guys dont lose sight of the fact that eve may be a way of life to many of us but it IS still a Game

This use to happen to me as well. It has nothing to do with CCP. For me it was overclocking my CPU. Data for some reason was getting corrupted while I was overclocking. Any file I downloaded has been perfect since I reset my CPU to it's original settings. I'm not saying that your CPU is overclocked, but that it's most likely a hardware issue on your end.

i have to admit that i didnt know today was patch day. i could blame it on the fact that as my dns server is not currently working and i dont get the news pop-up when i start eve, but im not going to. i love eve and i love ccp. this is the best gaming experience of my life and i wish silly people would stop coming on the forums and *****ing. Do any of those people *****ing have even the slightest idea what a massive task it is to keep a game like this running? because unless you could, under the influence of a truth serum, honestly say yes please stop whining. Im quite sure that everyone at CCP understands their duty to us players and it is not in their interests to annoy us but their job is a difficult one. so please, dont complain, just smile and be grateful they make the truly enormous effort to keep doing this at all. and for those of you who want to point out that we pay them to do their jobs by paying for eve, we know it and they know it, but it isnt polite to say so. Thanks CCP for such a wonderful gaming experience.

No thanks, I'd much prefer to click the box for the "Hot Female Strip-O-Gram" sent to my home to inform me.
Seriously though, playing any MMO I've found that checking forums/websites to be an integral part of the gaming experiance. The game isn't a static, in the box nothing will change for the duration of your play game. Things change, it's online, just check the website from time to time.

The patch flagged was indeed this one as i have been waiting for freighter containers and the change in carrier ship maintenace bay.
Sadly it would be a seem to be the case that we have here a guy who thinks like a few of his fellow country men that the world revolves around him.
Happily he is in a minority

Look mate, this patch has been flagged for weeks and the patch before this one came with the server deployment (also flagged for weeks). Stop moaning about the fact you couldn't be bothered to read the news when you logged in each time.

I think they will never do this as everyone would phone the line.
This would mean they would spend time talking to you and not fixing the problem.
The patch notice has been in and out of game for more than a week if you can't be assed to read it then its your fault.
The server maybe down longer then it should have been but you are getting a free content patch. Some other games charge you extra to use them on top of the monthly charge.
