Quote: Hi I have a Bantam ship with xtra cargo and 2 miner I. What should I mine to get most money? I mine Pyroxeres atm (low risk since in 1.0 space) I heard ppl say omber but omber takes up more space in my cargo hold so I have to make more trips back and forth between station and asteroidbelt. Is it still worth it?
Pyro is more than good enough to start off. if you find Omber you will go well too. Omber will maybe shortne the time you have to mine till the next frigade (or cruiser...good luck mining one with a Bantam thoug...)
Quote: Also do the mineral prices vary alot between systems and if so are they higher in lower sec rating systems?
Prices do vary following the supply/demand mechanism. Still, the refined minerals can be sold to NPC (Placing a order in a station) for a good fixed price. It's true that in some places some basic minerals (Trytanium, pyerite...) maybe sold at a higher price. But the risk 's not worth the isk (ah ah!). No, seriously.
Quote: Ppl are telling me to buy a badger and switch between bantam and badger will this save me alot of time when mining or is it better to save up for a cruiser?
The badger is a good and cheap industrial ship. And it has a huge cargo hold. Waaay larger then a cruiser one so... if you want to make money with trading/mining go for the badger (it only has a turret able to mount a miner though...)
Quote: Any other mining tips such as a good system or what ore to mine?
Sure. Don't be afraid to stay in a high sec level system . Even if it sounds like an oxymoron, it's not. Some people do leave the high sec level system too fast and loose his hard work in a breeze (NPC or PC pirates...) Learn the basics, on fighting, trading and mining in system with empires sovereignity and with a sec level from 1.0 to 0.5 untill you have confidence. As soon as you have a top end frigate you may start consider to explore a bit the outer fringes.
Quote: What skills are good to train in the beginning (except for learning skills)?
Depends on your career goals? Wanna be a fighter? Gunnery branch all the way. Build stuff and research? Industry and science up to the top. It's easy, really. But as you already pointed out, maxing some learning tree skill is as good as it gets.
Quote: Is there any way to see how many ppl are online in the universe? If not does anyone have a clue of how many ppl that are playing this game atm and how many usually are online at peak times?
I fail to see the sense of this question really. EACH and EVERY time you log in you have the number of connected people near your login window. Just look there. Or you can also try to look in here:

Quote: I read about skills you can only choose during char creation has this changed now?
Dunno really, it seems some missing skill available only in creation were introduced recently, maybe some other are still missing. But they are few.
Quote: Is mining the only good option to earn money in the beginning...kinda gets a little boring after awhile heh
No, mining is were the SURE money isk. You also can do trade runs (open the market and look wich good is wanted the most in a region...then look if you can find a place where this good is sold at a good price..voilÓ!:)
You can also hunt NPC pirates to collect bountye and loot. This may prove funny for a while and also profitable.
Quote: can you research blueprints with modifications to ships like a bantam with 3 highpower slots instead of 2 or more cpu power or blueprints to completly new ships?
Nope. Not for now, and to be quiet frank i don't know if in the future this will be possible. The Bantama will remain with his built in slots as they are now. But a dev may feel free to post here and prove me wrong.:)
Quote: As a corp can you build your own station or build mobile refining plants or anything like that? if not does anyone know if the devs plan to implement something like this?
All this stuff will come, some of these things may also come pretty soon (mobile refineries...)
Quote: How does clones work if I have a clone that saves 30k points when i respawn will I loose anything above that or is there just a chance Ill loose anything above that?
Afaik the exp points in clones do ensure the listed amount. I don't think a percentage of chance of saving some points and some not is taken into account (and to be quiet frank, i even doubt this last sentence makes any sense.:))
Quote: Are there other cool things in eve that I should know about?
