This sounds good and I will be getting this sometime soon. But I have a question that didn't seem to be answered.
You would get this service so you could keep your implanted clone safe. By that I mean the clone with the learning chips implanted that cost a lot. But if you are going to fight then you would want one of your jump clones to have the fighting chips implanted so you could be a better fighter then a clone without them.
So you go off to fight and win and now you want to get back to training your skills again. Here is the problem/question:
The fighting jump clone is not going to have the skills that your learning clone is going to have in a month or two? Correct? So in order to go into battle with the latest skill sets one would have to do a jump clone all over again? And buy fighting implants again? or do your other clones stay at the same level skills as your learning clone?

Once you have clone jumped out of a "learning" body, your skill training will increase to account for the loss in attribute points that the implants boost.
You can clone jump once every 24 hours to any of your available jump clones.
You could always buy a set of +1s for your "fighting" clone ;)

So what you saying is that your original clone with the learning implants will be safe and secure in a station and the attributes that those chips give will continue to effect the clones that you make? And this would include the fighting chips as well?
If this is the case WHY ISN'T every one doing this!!!

Nope this is not the case. You get attributes form your active clone. MicanG's jumpclone Service

I look forward to this service (added the thread to my favorites), once I get my fighting skills trained up, once I find a station that I can dock at.. with arkhanor (sp?) and a refinery, and for a low -> high sec hauler :)
Question though.. what happens to the jumpclone if you are pod killed (newb here)? Do you need to get another one?
With martial valor, if one becomes like a revengeful ghost and shows great determination, though his head is cut off, he should not die. |

No, if you get podded you're normal/medical clone gets active. Same rules as normal. After being podded you need to update you're medical clone. 1 medical clone covers all jumpclones.

Okay now I'm a bit confused.
If your know your going into a battle then I could see you wanting to jump into a clone without chips and keep your chiped one safe. But if you just doing normal travel around the universe you are going to WANT to have your chiped clone so you can be training your clone as fast as possible.
So what is the point of getting another clone then?
And again one of my questions was not answered. If you train your chiped clone for three months (or more) after your buy these extra clones what happens to the level of training in these extra clones? Do they stay at the level when they were purchased? And if your chipped clone is then killed off will all your skills go back to the way they were like 2/4/8 months ago when you bought the extra clones? Is there a way to update the training of these clones to match the level of your chipped and higher skill trained clone?

It works like first year philosophy class Fitz. For the case of EVE consider that your mind and your body are separate things. Jump clones are just spare bodies that you can put places and move your mind into when you want. Since your mind is where skill training is stored, all your skills and skill points go with you when you jump into a new clone. Implants on the other hand, are inserted into a specific body, which means that if you jump from a body with implants installed into another body, the second body will not have any implants. This obviously means that in the implant-free body your skill training will slow down slightly.
Hope this clears things up.

Also - I missed your first question. You can jump between clones every 24 hours... so if you wanted to fight in a implant-free clone and then go back to travelling in your implant-containing clone, you would have to wait 24 hours to do it, but it would be perfectly possible to do.

Thank you for explaining it, in a very clear way.
If someone has questions, they can message me, or try to convo me, or join the channel: Dark Reality I'm not looking every day in this thread I have to say due to the birth of our second son, I'm not behind the PC as much as I would like. So have a little patience
Thanks, jade for the answers/explanations.

Edited by: Valkyriena on 01/10/2006 01:22:00 Thumbs up for the friendly service and communication !
If it wasn't for the 24 hours I had to wait for my role in my original corp to be removed, it would have taken me the time to travel to the various available stations where I installed my clones.
Wich is what it took (after the 24 hours)... 1 hour later, I was back home.
Thanks again ! ------ Should be something here right ? Oh a sig ?... who cares ? |
