Your only reasons maybe, but if you hadn't noticed, your not everybody.
Iv'e only ever ran one auction, there not exactly something i agree with mainly because i/we got burned once taking part in one, because of the reason of the topic of this thread.. the hidden reserve.....
Needless to say, 4hrs of a sniper rule, we got done about about 8am the next day, when the guy refused to cough up because we hadn't met his reserve, we were pretty narked with it. Considering we even outbid xan at the time, and was probaly well over the odds anyway, i didn't buy his various excuses, why id fully suport this.
Umm and back to reasons why, only one auction iv'e ever done, sold a willpower +5, went for 830 i think in the end, i started it off at 400 something.. my reserve (hidden) was only 500.. i did feel guilty about doing that, but that was the least ammount i wanted, so if the bidding only went to 501 million isk, i would have accepted it.
I think thats the problem, what i did was out of niavity, and i dare say there's a few more like me, what you guys have to remember is not everybody is a gouging player grabbing every last cent, some people just do these things for a bit of fun and to get a fair price, because there realy unsure what it's worth.. not grab every last penny like some take them for.
Thats why i qouted the above, people don't have to be cynical about everything, auctions can be a bit of fun, not everybody plays hardcore, some people lose track of that.
