I have always wanted an in game ui change to mining modules. Nothing fancy just a little math calculator that self updates to tell me how much of the roid was left or how much i had at any certain time. So far I get by on calculators or math in my head. Would it be possible or against eula to make a simple change to the games ui like this? Something clever |

Yes.
It would be possible, and it would be against the EULA to modify the UI.
GǪso just make a semi-manual web widget and have it open in your browser instead.

I know mining has never been the foresight of CCP but perhaps they will take to this idea seriously if not just to help new players. It could help through the whole system and reward active miners more. Off to features and ideas I go. Something clever |

It wouldn't particularly help new players since they don't have the extraction volumes or cycle times or number of accounts vying for their attention where it would matter.
It would only really help old players multiboxing exhumer fleets. GÇ£If you're not willing to fight for what you have in GëívGëí you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.GÇ¥

being such a short trip from mining frig to exhumer and being a feature that provides no advantage that isn't already present. I feel a luxury change like this would be an all around good thing for the mining community. The idea in and of itself isn't to make mining easier but simply to improve it for what it is. What are some cons you see in this? Something clever |

Allowing players to modify the UI opens up an entire can of worms. It could potentially give players unfair advantages, and given the interdependencies in CCP's coding might even allow players to make changes to other areas unintended and unforeseen. We'll ISBoxer lets you. You can have 10 alts in 10 systems and have a blank client window with 10 locals meaning you can watch 10 systems at one. Or more if you like. |

Consider I'm a ratter in a system with two entries. I can change the standard UI to display 3 locals instead of the usual 1 and have a very big advantage over others hunting me.
Or I'm an alliance alt I can show every choke point local window in my one client and be super intel boy. |

what was that old audible warning tone program people used to use to signal when someone entered or left system, by "watching" the local channel?
If that was against EULA, you can bet your 4th point of contact so would modding the UI.

The UI is pretty customizable already, there is just zero documentation for most of it. Almost every window is resizable, able to be dragged around, text color/size changed. Most of the combat text can be filtered or changed as well, so im not sure exactly what more you need to be customized.
The only thing different from other MMO's is the ban on macros, which prevents completely new widgets and menus/screens. |

You get a freebie like for using "fourth point of contact" correctly.

Srsly? You can't even adjust the font size of the stuff inside those windows. The current interface is a piece of crap. Just go fly logi for a while and you will really start to hate it.
Just a few examples:
-if you have someone locked and ctrl-click on his broadcast your current focus target will switch to him... if you do the same thing in the watch list it doesn't switch the focus. Why this inconsistency?
-you can't change the font size of broadcasts or assign colors to different broadcasts (cap, armor/shield, align,...)
-the font under your targets icon is often hardly readable when there is a light source (nebulae, sun) in the background
-there is no way to tell which repper is on which target... you have to remember which one you put where
-why can't we queue commands? If I want to switch my repper from one target to another I have to hit (the correct) F key to make it go red, then watch it finishing the cycle. Often it then will "overshoot" and go part ways into the next cycle before it finally is turned off and THEN I can activate it on the new target. Why can't I just hit the F key twice and it then goes red and switches immediately to the next target at the end of it's cycle? Would feel way less laggy.
James Amril-Kesh wrote: It could potentially give players unfair advantages, and given the interdependencies in CCP's coding might even allow players to make changes to other areas unintended and unforeseen. If you can only change HOW the information is displayed and not WHICH information it really shouldn't give you an unfair advantage. (unless the default UI is a piece of crap ofc) I have to agree on the last part though. If you want to give the user the ability to introduce foreign code of some sort, you need to make sure your own code is rock solid, or otherwise it will be a big security risk.

Not a criticism I'm using this with my alts to show scanners so I can spot ghost sites and good combat sigs so I get them before anyone else. And this is exactly why I maintain that CCP has ruined exploration. No more unknown. Just people finding ways to do "the routine" quicker than the next guy can.

I always want this! It would be nice if it's possible to queue 1 command ahead. |

If they were auto run or had an option for it sure easiest fix there is. However cycling it is tedious might as well be watching d scan 24/7 living in a worm hole with the current logic of the system. At least then you make more money for your effort. Something clever |

Mousing over a modules or target will draw a faint line between the module and the target it's attached to.
Also, clicking the small icons under a target will turn off the module associated with that target, a vital thing when you're going through dozens of wrecks while salvaging at the same time and you have 4-5 wrecks at different distances of being tractored. The Drake is a Lie |

So your argument basically boils down to "I can't be bothered to press 1 button to get information, please present that information automatically"
I also find it pretty ******* laughable that Infinity Ziona posts off-topic in nearly every thread these days with "look at me, I'm so important!" useless irrelevant bullcrap.
