This afternoon, hadnt played eve for a few days due to problems even logging on since bloodpatch so after trying to logg on and succeeding i thought id play for 30 mins quick ( was bricklaying in my back garden and needed to come in from cold for a break ).
Now i love solo pvp but sadly with no proper nerfing to the use of warp stabs etc this is becoming a rare sight to find 1 player on his own that wants to fight and hasnt got stabs fitted.
I was in the HED-GP area in my curse recon ship, i dont use alts as ive always thought of that not being true solo pvp.
I can read a map and i dont rush around like a nutter so its unlikly im gonna run into a BIG enemy gang.
I enter sv5 and theres 3 RAT corp in local, i sigh to myself as if tryed to maintain ill never bother trying to fight them ever again due to previous engagements where its become clear they dont do fair fights, last BS i lost to them was a geddon in which i engaged 1 of there geddons, got him to 5% structure after he aggroed me only for him to warp off in 5% structure ( hoorah for stabs ), while aggressed on the gate i try to turn to warp off but im stuck on gate, 2 mates of his in bs jump in to finish me off.
There was another time that made me think i wont bother with this corp but ive forgotten tbh.
So i warp around using ss and planets etc to suss out what shiups they in and where they are, 1 geddon, 1 tempest and an interdictor.They are on wd gate so i warp to hed gate and jump in.
Local clear except for 1 enemy, scanner shows a thorax.I warp to keberz ( empire gate ) and sure enuf the hostile is there in a thorax, he locks me and i think to myself surly he not gonna try take out my curse?? I lock him and align and keep nice distance incase its a trap, after his sheilds go he jumps out, oh well i thought as much.
I jump out and then aproach back on gate as a covert ops ship is heading into 0.0, i knew i probably wouldnt catch it but thought what the hell.I jump in after and manage to scramb the covert, a taranis jumps in after him , both frigs aggress and i take em out, a 3rd intie trys but has second thoughts, i expected the thorax to get involved but he didnt bother.
Its at this point i see local grow with the RAT guys who were in next system in BS, they are entering from other side of sysrtem so i should have time to warp out, so i click warp to ss, 5 secs pass and nothing happens, i click warp again and again and again, 15 secs later the RAT geddon is out of warp and has me locked and scrambled.
Since i dont use stabs for pvp i burn for the gate and activate both my reps ( should easily get me out of system but whats this....my mods aint activating and its at this point that i say "oooooh &%ú$ú$" as well as thank you CCP.
Do i pertition due to the lagg involved stopping me from A/ warping out prior to engagement or b/ due to not having my mods activate to save my ass or c/ do i not bother at all becauce i still have an unanswered pertition from 1 month ago when i lost a zealot to 20 second no mods activating malarky in which the 6 strong gang of enemy could do what ever they like to me
