So I quit this game 3 years ago and just re-subbed last Friday or Saturday.
Came back, found I have a -7.9 sec status , probably understandable at the time but it's been 3 ******* years. Seriously.
Tried to join a nullsec pvp corp, got scammed (GoonWaffe I guess is known for this) for 90% of my isk. Found out I can buy tags and turn them in to return status, purchased some with the rest of my isk and loaded them in an incursus. Apparently the turn-in location is in lowsec, several jumps away.
Immediately got targetted down by a Loki camping the station before my frigate could warp to the gate (since when are cruisers able to target frigs before warp?) Lost the rest of my isk in that wreck.
Checked my alts. All the assets I had were in a POS that no longer exists, owned by a corp that also no longer exists. Contact and watch list completely empty.
So... no assets, alts have minimal skills trained (might as well just play a trial account), main literally can't do anything. No contacts still playing the game.
Well idk. If nobody wants me to resume playing the game, I guess I won't play it. POE is free. Cancelling the sub. Byes. |

Negative sec status doesn't dissipate over time, you gained it, live with it. Getting recruitment scammed is your own fault, it's not like the practice isn't well publicised.

While you as a person and player may have changed dramatically in 3 years, and your goals in eve different this time around also, your sec status doesn't repair itself. I can imagine how logging in to find -7.9 might have been a but surprising and a lil demoralizing, but that's just the way it is and always has been. So what, you forgot your old sec status? That's not anyone's fault but your own I guess.
You came back for a fresh start, so maybe the best course of action would have been to start a new account, or even now you could still create a new character in one of your spare slots (if you have any).

You had a bad return - you forgot what some things were like, you took huge risks anyway, and tried to jump into the deep end.

It's called "research". Had you checked the gates, you could have seen which ones had the high ganking ratio, then taken the long way around.

Rule no. 1: Never fly what you can't afford to lose. That includes cargo.

Main can't do anything? I disagree, even starting out in a mere noobie frigate, you can build your assets up fast. Do a bit of belt ratting in low, get a better ship, hunt FW plexers, get a better ship, perhaps explore a bit, get enough assets to fix your sec status, if you even need that. Money shouldn't be a problem to get.

I have also Just returned , actually I returned 6 months ago deleted my old characters and created this new character but found the game had not changed much or I had not changed enough spent a couple of days in game and left. Kept an eye on eve I know from many others that have left that even today I still get emails from them discussing some eve aspect or other. Anyway, Rubicon comes out and I think to myself letGÇÖs give it another go but this time, letGÇÖs not get any prima donna ideas about my old character and how good I used to think I was letGÇÖs just try to learn what the game is now. So I have picked up this character again with about 600k SP and joined a good relaxed corp which asks nothing of me and also contains a knowledgeable set of players.
The adventure begins, if it works In 6 months or so I should be looking for other challenges. |

When I came back after my 2 year break I had literally nothing, an empty wallet, no ships, nothing. I played my way up to a decently full hangar and had some fun and then realized I had my most valuable asset still, my character. Sold him, managed the isk from that sale upwards by a few billion over a couple days time, then bought this character. I made enough to keep me in ships for a while and not worry about losing them.
There are ways to come back from having nothing, that's one of the things that is so great about EVE. |

3 years is a long time,people moved on.
just grind some isk and standing up in lowsec and rebuild yourself dude.

If nobody wants me to resume playing the game, I guess I won't play it. POE is free. Cancelling the sub. Byes.

This OP right here is the reason why most games hand-hold gamers. Because as weak and pitiful as they are, they spend money on games and came companies want money (duh).
The OP is also why any self respecting EVE player should resist the idea of catering to such people in the pursuit of "moar subs". EVE is great precisely because it takes people like the OP, slaps them around like they burned the dinner of a dude who wears a wife beater t-shirt all day and says "oh and thanks for you subscription payment". |
