Edited by: Swen K''laris on 09/03/2006 09:43:25 Lmfao it may not say its non concensual pvp anywhere but it just is,now you have a number of choices either you can go to 0.4 and run the risk and stop crying or you can stay in 0.5 and above, or deploy tactics that would get you thro or simply go around or you could check it out via map rather than play like a blind man and stumble head long in to it. or quite simply go find a game where everbody wuvs each other something fluffy should suit.

What I was disapointed in was the fact that there seamed to be no resistance at all to this camp. I heard nothing about a group of bounty hunters. If this was realistic (in a SCIFI sense) then one would assume that CONCORD would have warped in after a few hours a cleaned them up (Come on CCP... get some GMs to control the police!). I wasn't expecting this to happen for over 24 hours (do you guys have a life?)
In some areas they would have met resistance and in fact I think I read iirc that Ushra'Khan did use a carrier against them - but could be wrong.
I guess S******ely specifically chose Amanake as no one really claims it or provides protection there and it has a sufficiently high number of travellers to make it worth their while...

with real alliances having hi sec corridors to their space, there really is no oposition.
when I used to camp orvolle and ostingele it was a sure thing fountain would come to whoop our asses, but as it stands now, no real military might has an interest in these low sec camps. UK do their bit, but realisticl there is no financial reward in it for them, they lose alot of isk and get nothing in return.
I killed a sniper hanging out with RHN down in amarr space somewhere and was sent 5mil from different people. If it had of been a bigger camp and I was a bounty hunter group, losing one bs is likely, what is 5mil gonna do then?
For camps like this to be chalenged, carebears need to dig deep to give the good guys some financial help, what they do is lose lose, no matter what way you look at it the pirates win!
There is no team spirit in eve outside the corp/alliance stucture and that is why pirates in empire will always be on top and carbears will always be screwed over.

Hardin,
That was a different weekend. As you know full well U'K can't be in Amamake every day. Policing this route is not our first priority, although we do it when we can.

Thats not actually true, U'K loves to hunt and battle the pirate scum. The ISK balance does not suffer from this activity, nor would it matter if it did. This route is important but it is a matter of priorities.

I wasn't having a go at you guys. I know you play an anti-pirate role - I was just not sure if Amamake was within the scope of your remit. As nobody challenged the Sniggs I assumed it was not - and you know what they say about assumptions
I completely understand that it is not always possible to drop everything to break up pirate camps 24hrs a day and did not mean to imply that UK was failing in its duties.
Anyway go back and crawl under your rock terrorist

I dunno about uk, but if i lose just a standard bs it costs around 100mil to replace, if i loot a simlar fitted bs i gain around 20mil in modules.
And I know its not all about isk, but having the isk to replace losses instead of having to stab up everytime you fight would be nice right?
PVP is meant to sustain, mercs make isk from cotracts, pirates make isk from the volume of loot, navy personel make isk from having their region secure....wha do bounty hunters get bar a few crummy mods which still dont take them out of the red? there is not the volume of pirates to make isk such as pirates do, there is nobody paying a contract like mercs and you do not gain anything from securing space so thata bunch of thankless carebears dont get ganked.

The CVA has been successfully patrolling and breaking up pirate camps in the 'Deliverance' area for over 18 months now.
During that time we have been visited by many roving pirate bands including Snigg and TSBS. Sometimes we win and sometimes we lose but at the end of the day if you persist in making a pirates life difficult (boring as that process might be sometimes) they will eventually go looking for greener pastures...
We do not get paid for this work - we do it for the glory of the Amarr Empire - to ensure that this region is as profitable as possible & the added bonus is that it can be fun and it can be profitable - pirates do tend to have nice setups when you catch them... It is also provides nice combat training for our pilots...
Similarly the Ushra'Khan terrorists also conducts anti-pirate activities for their own reasons.
We assume it is to fool the gullible Minmatar population into thinking that they are not all bloodthirsty murdering terrorists and hence boost recruitment and funding

I think you are both fools to the capatisitic nature of the empires, Its sad that you actually think its gloriouse or that anyone for that matter really cares about you. All industrialists in the new eden only care about their own greed, they may smile at you and mouth a quick thnx, but in reality they would as soon walk over you than help you.
As long as you think you are doing good then that is fine. One guy housing brainless slaves that he has to feed and cloth and another attempting to free the hapless weaklings only to find a pen for them and feed and cloth.

Edited by: Carolus Martellus on 20/03/2006 01:54:03 Pirates have a low rate of reproduction and do not spawn like carebears which have a thousands or millions of larvae, hoping for a certain percentage to sustain the species. Pirates play an important role at all levels of Eve ecosystem from scavengers to super-predators.
Scavengers prey upon dead or dying pilots, super predators such as snigg pilots help to control populations and maintain prey species diversity by concentrating on the most available population.
They are doing a favor to the ecology of Eve Online by killing the weakest, sick and the dead so that the fittest survive.

What the hell is going on here?
When you enter 0.4 or below you should always be on the lookout for hostiles and gate campers. Check the map for kills/podkills in the last hour and check with your corp, or anyone else you know who may know the status of the system before entering.
That system would have been glowing red on the map when viewing kill/podkill, which really should have tipped you off that maybe perhaps the system might be being camped? Using a fast ship you can warp away faster than you can get targetted. Using instas you can jump out before you get targetted.
It takes a retard of monumental proportions to get caught in a 0.4 gatecamp. You have to either (A) Blindly warp through a 0.4 without checking to see who is in there, (B) Autopilot through 0.4, (C) WArp to the camped gate WITHOUT INSTAS (D) Not check the map.
As much as SNIGG can be a pain in the behind, I have to applaud them for enfocing financial Darwinism on the carebear population of Eve.
PS: To the guy who lost his BS (uninsured... right?), and has to mine veld for 3 months to get another one; Dont bother. You are not intelligent enough to own a Battleship and will only get your new one blown up again.
