Heya bit of a random topic and not sure where it should be [Mods move to where apropriate]
Anyway, i got a assignment in which i have to do a camera walkthrough for a 3d scene i will be making in 3dstudiomax, was thinking spaceship interiours anyway, but then thought doing a interiour 4 a eve ship might be a laugh, so i set out on my quest for reference material, and while there are some vague descriptions in the backstorys theres nothing too concrete....
Sooooo if any1 knows of any more info/crossections/blueprints etc i would be appriciative of any links...!
Or if the above doesnt exist it would be good to hear what different people think would be inside a ship ;)
[PS - i dont think any of this clashs with EULA if it does please tell me - i will only be using it 4 my assignment and possibly a portfolio at a later date]

i dunno if any structure or ship has a true blueprint layout, can allways be creative though. for example the bridge of a Ferox(estimating the bridge as that area with the white windows below the conning tower).

On a serious note i don't think their is any "space" thought their was a pod "hold" and the rest was all solid with various components... -------------------------------------

There is space. They had these ships before pod tech. There are also windows on many of the ships.

/me puts on teh anti-flame suit T2 There must be alot of space inside our ships, because there are other crew members onboard our ships. So I think that you need to get some references from classical Sci-Fi movies (Alien for Caldari, Star Wars for Gallente etc). I've toyed with this idea myself. Haven't gotten a very long way with it because I've only tried a Merlin and a few other ships.
I've used several cutaway refrence sites for Star Trek like the following if it helps any.

I've been thinking the same ideas for a couple of weeks now. been thinking of making a high poly model of a ship (probably a merlin or similar) as a "cutaway" model, as if it were a enthusiast's model (similar to the cutaways you get of fighter planes in magazines)
would be a fun challenge
the other one I'd love o do would be a level of an unreal mod for an assault level - challenge the players to board a cruiser and plant charges on the pod :)

i just lost all my work and my memory sticks f'd up, lost all 2days work so im in e6 thinking wtf do i do now?
the uni proxy server means i have no chance of updating steam any time this year....
maybe i should start the ship interiour ;)
and i meant 2morrow as in the games engines and phycics lecture ;)
And aaaaanyway any more intelligent discussion peeps?

My experiance of unreal.... Dont .... The engine crashes at least twice every 10minutes! myself and the rest of the games design course and lecturers will agree with that ;)

Ships do have crews...
Also, you can find some really nice stuff that's since been removed from the eve site at This link such as some concept blueprints for ships, and what the scale/crew count on the ships are.

Right seen as i had a pretty open view, on what i could do ive started working on the command deck of a thorax class cruiser, no idea how good it will be when im done, but im basing the whole thing around the pod been in a central 'bay' kinda like the pilots chair from alien, if i get things right i should have the floor around its plinth covered in cables and the like. the rest of the 1st floor of the command deck should just have read outs etc around it on the walls.
Coming away from the central reservation will be 2 stair cases either side leading to the second floor of the command deck which will have 5 'psuedo-pods' for the support crew, where they will be interfaced into the ship in the manner of 'serviters' (4 those 40k players out there ;) ) the serviters themselves wont be included in the model.
Anyways thats the concept ^^ if i get anywhere with it i will post the screenys as a i go along assuming ppl are interested :P
Futher opinions on interior is still welcome :P as well as textures and materials you would expect to be there :)
Personally i see the command section of a gallentine ship as been quite 'airy' and artistic so lossa elegant curves and bluey metalic in colour :)

Sounds like you are ahead in the feild ;)
im doing my 1st year of games design :P semesta 2 camera walkthrou module atm but yeah might be a idea to get in contact, PM in game. Always happy to listen to people with experiance :P
im using 3dsmax7 atm because the uni aint upgraded their lisences to 3ds8 yet so they cant read files in a newer format etcetc ;)
But yea some usefull stuff coming out this thread so far :)

sig radius and size have nothing to do with it. Have a look at the stealth birds of the modern day - some are quite huge but the coating on the fuleslage make them look like a bird the size of a eagle on radar :) Siggy Radius only exists for tracking of weapons and lock time. ------------ Atlantis Earth Production Studios - Phoenix, Arizona - Las Vegas
