If they go to WoW they make a stand, by making that stand, I entitle me to believe they are wrong.

There also a lot of AOL users. Opinions they may be, but some people have far more credible opinions than others.

who said anything about trading?
You could just give the other player your WoW character as a gift, and he in turn could give you his eve character as a gift =)
(of course...he'd have to pay the transfer fee).
Its the gift that keeps on giving =O

People above have described generally how to go about swapping a WoW character for an Eve one, the issue is that you are wide open to get scammed, as at some point in the process one or the other party in the transaction will hold all the cards. There is no real way around this I think.

I had my WoW account (US) evalued by one of those sites that sell gold/accounts/items/whatever. They offered me around... lemme see...
70 buckaroos. Which would not let me buy a new game off the shelf, for my lvl 60, decently-equipped mage. Apparently, the reason is that everyone and their grandmother was trying to pawn off their accounts as they left the game.
I decided to keep on to my account, which I haven't had in active subscription for a few months. In retrospect, maybe I should've sold. :|
Also, like Winterblink said, WoW accounts matter **** all in the long run. Grand Marshall? Who cares. You'll never make any impact in WoW, ever. ---

It's that simple.

Considering that WoW has a ridiculous amount of subscribers and is still growing, the reason is more likely that it's relatively easy to get a character to level 60 with decent equipment in that game. I've heard you can do it in a week or two. And since the end-game mostly sucks, it's also largely pointless to buy a level 60 character.

In the list of directions I gave the only person open to getting scammed is the WoW account owner, not the EVE character buyer. Like I said, listen to me and no one else. (Almost) everyone else are fools.

Whoa . I have done something wrong then. Took me half year to reach lvl60 on my warlock. And my hunter is still lvl52 and played time is reaching my warlocks. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong?
And WoW's end-game is different than EVE's. I still don't understand why people compare those two games? I play(ed) both and love(ed) both. Simple as that.

No I think you did it the right way :). The lvl 60 in 2 weeks must be one of those power levelers. And probably it's /played time, not real time. I dont see the fun in that, but hey to each his own ;).

Sorry to be slightly off topic, but CCP will actually refund you if your scammed for time cards? This was my big concern about buying them in game.

tbh you're far better off building your own char from scratch, having the exact char you want, and knowing what everything does, than buying some mega-char and absolutely sucking at eve forever because you never went through the learning curve.
nothing teaches you to fly a frig like tackling pre-cold war ravens in a vigil with 200k sp :)

Dont listen to anyone else, unless they are in agreement with me.
Here is what you do:
Use whatever non spamming method to you can to find a person who wants to make the trade you desire. I am sure that at any given point there are at least 100 people with a good amount of SP who are tired of EVE for one reason or another and you could convince to trade your WOW account for their EVE character.
Have the person post in the EVE forms that he wants to sell his EVE char for 5000 isk to (your EVE name). Post there sayting you accept.
Have the person use the legal character transfer method to transfer his EVE char to your new EVE account. This will cost him some USD.
Give him the 5000 isk from your noob char, so that you "officially" paid 5000 isk for the EVE char.
You now own a high SP character.
Now, for 100% unrelated reasons, decide to quit WoW and give your WoW username and password to the person, after removing all your personal information from your wow account info.
100% legal from EVEs point of veiw.
yeeeees..... and now find somebody stupid enough to give you his character without any form of proof or legal backup that you are going to trade him your WoW account...
oh wait... you could ofcourse send your WoW account first...
I'll volunteer for that, btw

Hehe, you're not doing anything "wrong". I don't remember the exact numbers I've read, but I think people have hit Level 60 in 5-7 days played. You'd have to play 10-12 hours a day to do that in two weeks, but that doesn't stop some people. You'd also have to be very familiar with the inner workings of the game and know the optimal way to get experience at each level.
I don't know why people compare WoW and EVE at all. At their core they have similar mechanics, but they are trying to do very different things. City of Heroes/Villains is probably even more vapid than WoW, but if I had the time I'd be playing it alongside EVE when I'm in the mood for something different.
