Is this a new mission? I can do all L3 missions in my Brutix, but this one just kicked my a@@. Got killed in about 30 seconds. Wondering if anyone else has had this and how they finished it.

I just got this mission. First part was easy enough.. second part though was just rediculous. I could deal with the ships but I just couldn't tank all the Sentry Guns (really bad warpin placement.. and they really POUND hard). Now I have Decent Resists (65% all, about 4000 hit points, running a Prophecy). I warped in.. warped out. Dropped about 2800 hit points in about 13 seconds. I managed to lock onto 1 ship.. fire once.. then warp away.

This one is a piece of cake in a cerberus
1 active EM hardener 2 Large Shield Extenders 1 Gistii A-type small shield booster 3 x BCU II 1 x PDU II 5 x Heavy Launcher II
Just make sure youre moving in some direction and take out the sentries first, they are the massive damage dealers but die in 2 volleys of thunderbolts. ---------------

Edited by: Topodo on 07/03/2006 05:47:39 Tank against EM and Thermal I guess.
And yeah, the initial attack is the most intense burst damage I've seen out of a level 3.
My Brut could stay long enough to kill two towers, then had to warp and come back to take on the rest... but I was tanking against thermal and explosive, I think. I'll try this again with an EM/thermal tank and see what happens.

well, I finished this mission twice with Domi, but I had to warp out at least once each time. Try to kill the sentries first, after they are gone, things are real easy. However the real deal of this mission is the 8 omber before you take accel gate. And these Omber ores are BIG!!! I just gave up the mission time bomus and mined them all with couple of corp mates. A lot of ISK and no rats while you are mining. Nice.

I've done it three times today and it has been, by far, the hardest lvl 3 I've done yet. Portal of War didnt bring me to hull so quickly, heh. What I did was warp in, kill a sentry or two, warp out, rinse, repeat. I tried just about every combo of shield hardeners and none seemed to help any, so I'm not sure if the resists are bugged or what. I believe it *may* be thermal damage, but, as I was taking too much damage, I wasn't too concerned with what worked the best so long as I got out of Dodge quick enough.
The second part doesn't seem to drop anything, container-wise or anything - at least I've been unlucky three times today /shrug.

Yeah it's mostly the EM damage you need to tank against. My Cerberus has an 80% built-in thermal resistance, but I had to warp out when I didnt have an EM hardener on. With the EM hardener though, not a problem. ---------------

Edited by: Forkrul on 07/03/2006 10:00:12 I've done it once in my brutix. Tbh I didn't expect that hard a pounding and had to warp out after killing one sentry. Came back, finished it.
I'm pretty sure with 2-3 em/thermal hardeners and an 800-1600 plate and good named/T2 med rep, you can tank long enough to kill all the sentries without having to warp out. I'll let you know next time I do it. My tanking skills are mediocre, my gunnery even worse.
In any case, saying it's easy in a HAC is 'meh'. It's like saying to a noob who can't finish a lvl1 'hey, it's dead easy in my rax man'
Edit: Yeah, that's my alt, so what?

lol....overkill i did it np with just a large SB and a 50% hardner each for therm and EM, in a brutix btw . Just turn on the SB as soon as you start taking dmg, by the time my shield was down to 30% i had killed enough to beat the dmg being delt.

Had this one night before last, I did it in a Brutix kitted out as follows:
High 4x 250mm Rail (named) 3x 150mm Rail (named) both with plutonium
Med 3x Cap recharger 1x AB
Low 1x T2 Med Repper 3x Active Hardener (Ex, Kin, Therm) 1x 800mm Nanofiber plates
I was down to 25% Armor by the time the Sentries were dead, but at that point the repper and hardeners can cope with the rest of the bad guys.
Brutix has a 7.5% bonus to repper HP repaired per BC level so a T2 med repper does 416HP per cycle with Gallente BC Lvl4 instead of the standard 320HP (comes in handy).

I was wondering where the complaints where about this mision...
I was in a Raven and normaly I can fall asleep while doing lvl3 misions but I was happy to see a lvl3 mision in which I actualy had to switch on my shield booster for a little as we don't want to get below 60% shield now do we...
I have to say I like this mission it is sufficiently difficult to make people have to work on it yet it is not undoable (have done it later in a ferox and found it was not as easy as most but certainy not imposible.

Thanks for all the feedback. I think I'll try it again. Pretty sure I was tanking kinetic/thermal the first time. Will throw a couple of EM hardeners and a thermal hardener on this time.

Woohoo I finished it. The EM hardeners and killing the sentries first did it. Nice mission. First one I've lost a ship to. Only problem is absolutely no loot.

Edited by: Topodo on 08/03/2006 19:30:41 I managed to just BARELY beat this with my Brut without warping, with 1 EM and 1 thermal hardener going. My armor dropped to 5% just as the last tower fell, with a Med II and Small II repairer running.

It's real easy to beat if you bookmark the spot the first time you warp in, then get out and warp back in at a farther range, instead of in the middle of everything.

Heh - just got this one. Did it in my Apoc. Entirely T1 gear but I had to warp out and fit a second large repairer. Ran the cap down a bit but by the time it was an issue I has on the home straight and could shut one repairer off. -- (Battle hardened miner)

I did this one in my Blaster Moa with two warp outs. Killed two sentries on the first warp in, and all but the Slaver battlecruisers next warp in.
Then I promptly forgot what this mission was about and popped in a week later in my Harpy, almost losing her in a matter of 30 seconds :)
So then i tried the Caracal, warped in grabbed bookmark, warped out, warped in at 100km. Even at that range I could only kill one sentry at a time before i had to warp out. Viscious guns :)

Just done this mission in my enyo and its the first time i've had to warp out for a long time Definately one of the hardest i've done it took me to structure the first time i warped in but with a couple of warp out's soon became easy to tank The secret is don't panic and warp out if you have to with plenty of armour left to go.

this missions seems to be really hard, as there are already numerous threads about it.
and as said before, it is hard, i nearly had to warp out using my ferox, soemthing that i don't have to (i remember one storylinemission where i had to warp out a few months ago but tahts it)
fix Interbus Missions - don't remove them |

Lost my enyo to the second stage of this one . Gonna have another go at it with my Brut, maybe I'll last a little longer than the 10sec it took them to put me in a pod. Still, makes a nice change, usually I can do all lvl 3's (except angel) without batting an eyelid. This one made me go WTF! Wheres my enyo gone!? It might be easier now I know what I'm up against

Did the lvl4 version in my 'phoon fitted with 4 med arties and 4 cruise plus 2 x 1600mm plates and tech 2 med and large reppers. Watch out for the 3 warp scramblers and several heavy/cruise missiles batteries . Same loot problem as lvl3 - nothing from the battleships at all

Is there any hope to handle this in a Vexor or should I wait until I have everythying trained sufficiently for a Dominix?

Dunno but just to clarify I only had to warp out with my Apoc because basically I screwed up the first attempt.
I've only just got back to running missions and my overview wasn't correctly configured (didn't show all rat types, was full of LCO instead of targets). I had no idea there were sentry guns there at first.
In hindsight I don't think the second repairer is needed on an Apoc but it gives you indefinite tankability. Without it you have to act fast or lose your ship.
The only puzzler was that the first few rounds of fire appeared to do nothing to the sentry guns and then they'd pop in one (occasionally two) rounds. Every sentry kill was:
Fire <nothing> Fire <nothing> Fire <nothing> Fire <nothing> Fire <gun explodes>
I wasn't aware of any lag so I'm at a loss to explain this. -- (Battle hardened miner)

I was able to solo this in my Arbitrator, so the Vexor should be ok with the proper setup.
I had active armor hardeners for EM and Thermal, which gave me enough time to pop a sentry gun before having to warp out on the first time in to stage two. I think I had to warp out one more time, but it gets easier for each sentry gun you take out.

Yeah, I am working my way up through lvls in my Raven, this one certainly woke me up! And using smartbombs against those walls completely whites out my screen even at maximum zoom ...lol.... oh yeah and the spawned asteroid field you jump from with the first set of baddies in it has some nice omber. Big rocks.

I just pulled this one, now I wonder if I should even try it in my Thorax. I have three active hardeners for three lowest resists, then the adaptive to cap all three bringing them all to roughly %60-%70. Will have to debate this one...

OldPueblo,
I solo this in my Thorax with 2.5m sp. Just plan on warping out the 2nd room several times. Warp in, target a sentry gun and nearby frigates, align for warp, do as much damage as possible and warp out. It takes 3-4 warp outs.

Yeah but you also have to factor in your 'tardedness, so you probably shouldn't try it
