Inanna Sumer	Posted - 2004.08.12 11:22:00 - [154] Edited by: Inanna Sumer on 12/08/2004 11:24:23 probably the main issue this may not be possible- ever notice that loading time when you pull up a character's information or their corp's info? that's your client pulling that information from the server, for showinfo to work the client would have to pull (and then presumably cache) that same character info every time you moused over their portrait (leading to lots of requests on the server as you drag your cursor down the list) that or pull it all as you enter the system, then you have the problem of potentially pulling 10s to a 100 records as you enter the system (if it's a busy hub system) probably the only way something like this would be feasible from a coding/bandwidth point of view would be if you had to click something like the info button to expand out the quickinfo, to prevent the quick drag generating a ton of requests on the server, it'd have to wait until you actually requested it by clicking the icon... <edit> but definitely a nice idea, and very user friendly, if it's possible to implement without killing the server in the process I hope CCP implements it </edit>
