I wonder if CCP has ever considered making it possible to target modules on a ship as well as the whole ship itself, I just wonder how much of an impact this would have on the game. Would be intersting to have smaller ships attack something huge but not attack the armor or shields but instead take put its turrets or drone bays.

Interesting, but I hope it only affects capital ships.

That would make sense, only on capital ships.
In the game Nexus, you could take out other ship's modules. But that is because in that game, ships could last well over 10 minutes. This feature would be useless if allowed on smaller ships because combat in this game is so fast compared to Nexus. There's no point in blasting a cruiser's weapons if you could *****the cruiser by itself in a few minutes.

Not that I'm really in the WCS discussion, but this could help address that issue. Pirates could open fights by whacking out their enemies stabilizers. Of course, in theory, you could open a fight by shooting someone's scramblers too.
Probably only certain systems should be targetable, those being the ones that have some interface with the outside of the ship: guns, propulsion, NOS, etc. Being able to shoot out someone's MAPC that should be "safely" inside their hull and armor doesn't strike me as "realistic" if that term has any bearing in a Sci-Fi game.
