Quote: How many times have they stated that they can¦t/won¦t replace stuff ?? How much time will you need to cram this fact into your brains? Some people never understand...
I¦m not saying it¦s right not to replace stuff for reasons like CTD or whatever. But on the other hand the GMs just CAN¦T do that as it would result in thousands of petitions per day. Every little peon would start petitioning for every little stupid item they THINK they¦ve lost due to CTD or whatever reason there may be.
Then egain you KNOW that you¦re probably not going to get your stuff back so why do you even bother talking about it? Send in a petition, receive an answer and get on with the game is that so freaking difficult? You also KNOW that you¦re not allowed to paste GM-convos to chats or forums so why in gods name are you doing it?
Don¦t break the rules and come here to complain about the consequences, that¦s just stupid.
You are an example of why CCP can provide APPALLING Customer support and get away with it...... As long as long as people continue to accept this level of support as normal, it will not improve.
CCP, It is time to get your act together and start providing the level of support the customers deserve.

Nice one, Barry. I've read countless posts along the lines of this one, and more and more I come to the conclusion that the customers deserve jack squat.
People treat Polaris/GMs/Tech support so appallingly badly, they should be grateful they don't get banned on sight. There is no way in hell that any reasonable businessman would put up with one tenth of the grief these guys are suffering.

So you really expect them to replace every single item lost due to every single CTD happening on the cluster?? You¦ve got to be kidding me.
Add up the number of CTDs happening everyday, then multiple that number by... let¦s say 0.6 to see in how many cases items were lost. This will easily result in several thousand items lost every single freaking day. Do you really expect the staff to replace several thousand items per day??? You¦ve got to be kidding me again
As soon as CCP says "We will replace every item lost to CTDs and other connectivity issues" CS will be bashed to death with petitions while players who were in from the start begin a freaked out whinefest because they didn¦t get their stuff replaced back then.
The suggestion of replacing every item lost to these things is utter nonsense because you¦d need a squad of minimum 300 people to accomplish this.
Yes, it is annoying to lose items, but you can¦t expect CCP to replace all of them, that¦s simply unrealistic unless you have 200.000 customers paying those 300 CS employees.
All this is obsolete however if people just learn to chill and not freak out over every stupid little item they lose. It¦s a game ffs!
Talk about replacing items worth more than 50m isk and I¦m cool. But replacing every item?? ... sheesh...

And here comes the 'I'll follow CCP Blindly' Corp.
If something is lost due to an bug or problem with the server..... YES, it should be replaced..... their excuse about not having logs is total crap.....
This is a fine game, and well worth playing, but there are problems and CCP's response to the problems is to bury their head in the sand, pretend they don't exist or point to some bull**** statement about them not being willing to support their own product.
It's about time something was done about it.

Edited by: Kozak on 07/09/2003 14:29:44 First off, they DO have logs of everything in game. They kept mentioning this so people would not exploit in BETA. Back during beta 7, there was a bug where people got infinite money from the market, guess what, they said that they can track every single isk and item, so they know who the exploiters are.
Once the game went live, they changed their story.

They do replace items, depends who answers your petition.
i know of one guy who had his ship replaced due to a bug, he ejected from his ship for no reason and ouldnt get back in it.. mid NPC combat. this was a bug in about week 3 of retail, now fixed. he got his ship and modules back.
One week later another guy had the EXACT same thing happen to him, he was told tough.
consistency is important.
