I didn't bother to read what's been posted as it was seven pages long but I'll still answer. I know it seems like everyone is using hardeners to avoid damage now, or even to repair damage in the middle of a fight, but I don't think we need to get rid of them. They have a place, it's just that they are overused by carebears trying to avoid damage.
We just need to give hardeners a penalty to discourage their use in pvp. A 50% increase to turret sig resolution and a matching decrease in tracking (per hardener) would balance out their advantage in combat. I'm not sure how you could deal with reppers/boosters as they're far too overpowered. Perhaps just remove them until a solution is found. As it is now, there's no penalty to the use of hardeners and reppers. Sure you can argue that every shield hardener is another ecm module you haven't fitted or armour hardener a damage mod but let's face it, right now you can make a ship that can both deal damage and reduce the damage taken.
I think we also need to consider the way you can repair damage at a station. Removing reppers/boosters only delays the problem. We would just end up with carebears running to stations to repair after a fight. What we need is for reppers/boosters to be removed along with station repair facilities. The bug with shields mysteriously repairing themselves also needs to be resolved
These really need to be fixed as they're nothing more than bugs.

YEAH!! and what is with them being able to shoot back? I pay good money for this account why should anyone be able to shoot at me. Fix this glitch or I'm quiting eve and you'll lose all your money and eve will close down! (can you tell I'm not being serious?)

btw usually if you put a big tanking you will not have a big dps, and if someone got a fitting who can tank and deal good damage what's the problem? he got a good fitt you are owned! use your brain and find better fitt.

Having just got back from having my sides stitched back together after laughing so much at this thread. It occurs to me the main problem is that Breed Love is suffering from Little Tank Syndrome. A bit like short man syndrome where they HAVE to be the best at all cost because of their short comings .

FWIW, I have 17x large shield extenders on my Merlin, so even if you lock me using Death Star weapons, I will omfgt4nkz0r with 3asy. I don't run because all your ammo is belong to meh.

Remove low slots
I mean seriously, they seem to be the source of great distress. You can fit WCS there, hardeners, Armor Reppers and god forbid damage mods.... Removing them would solve all of the above.
