On January 18th 2014, RvB Ganked, one of EVE's longest running regular public roams will reach its 100th numbered event.
Now rather than running a regular roam to celebrate this momentous occasion with little result before our inevitable whelp, we will be setting up with Carriers, Dreadnaughts & supporting sub-caps in an as yet unannounced low security system, while inviting all of YOU to come defend us, kill us, or fight each other while we sit & spin our Capitals. Eventually we will die and everything will be over. Once the dust from all of this has settled, there will be prizes!
The system for the event will not be publicly announced until the day, however over the next few weeks I will suggest you plan what ships you think you will need, look into getting a clean clone - Estel Arador has the BEST service to use for this - & spread the word to your friends about Ganked 100. This should be a great way for everyone to kick off 2014, especially if you do not play in Sov wars or are yet to see Capitals up close.
Prizes you say?
Yes, there will be prizes, however they are yet to be firmed up. I am more than willing to accept donations of prizes for this event - and to everyone who does you will get full credit on my blog, in this forum post & in all future advertising we do, as well as the thanks of a grateful playerbase! If you know of any entities who may wish to sponsor this in a larger way, get them to contact me, Mangala Solaris.

My first taste of PvP was with Ganked, turned me from a carebear to a killer. Cheers to Mang for making this happen.
Ive offered up a prize of a Stratios, with specific requirements to whom it will be awarded. Not gonna tell what they are, but Im looking at you 2 week old newb.

To fly with the Ganked fleet - no. As Daneel says above we just require people to have practised with us a bit first. And also understanding of the fact that at some stage any ship you do have in system will die.
Additionally as with any public event, there'll be fleets from all over showing up to "get involved" in one way or another.

You only need to practice with us if you're coming in a capital, or maybe the slightly unusual T2 support cruiser fits.
All AF, BC, BS, HAC, etc pilots are welcome to just turn up on the day, x in "RvB Ganked" and join the party. Once more, shield tanked please, and try plug the EM hole.  |

For undertaking "stuff" during the event:
On Most Kills in the event with a sub battleship: Dread of Pilots Choice
Final Blow on the carrier of Mangala Solaris by a none capital ship: Raven Navy Issue
Highest Damage on Mangala Solaris carrier by a none capital ship: 1 Plex
On most kills using a frigate: All Pirate & Navy Faction Frigates
On most Capital kills using a subcapital in system from start time to Mangala's capital dieing + 60 minutes: Carrier of Pilots Choice
Spot Prizes awarded for saying a particular keyword in local: 2 of each Pirate & Navy Faction Cruiser - it will be 1 ship per winner based on RNG magic using my local logs. keyword to be announced on the day.
Most Pods killed with a destroyer or smaller: Nefantar Thrasher x2
For those attending as part of the Ganked fleet:
First Capital to die that isnt Mangala: Machariel
Logistic hull - t1 or t2 - on the most killmails: 1 of each t2 logistics hull
Ganked Capital on the most kills in system from start time to Mangala's capital dieing + 60 minutes: Rattlesnake
Ganked Sub-Capital on the most kills in system from start time to Mangala's capital dieing + 60 minutes: 2 Navy BC matching winners race.
Spot Prizes awarded for saying a different keyword/phrase in local: 1 of each Navy Cruiser - 1 ship per winner as per RNG. Word announced on the day.
NB: People flying in the Ganked fleet ARE perfectly eligible for winning prizes off BOTH lists, so do not be dismayed!!!

If you want to bring a capital to join our fleet for this event, please eve-mail myself and Mangala the details of the hull, location, and your jump drive skills, and cyno options/alts, before 17:00 on the 10th January.
Details of the practice sessions we've been running on Singularity (Sisi, the test server) remain in the public channel's Message Of The Day, and on Mangala's blogs. We have 11 days left, attend whenever you can to help reduce derps on the day. |
