Hardwar. I used to play the CD in my stereo, it had the most insane surreal tripping music. I also play the Half Life CD in my stereo from time to time that was pretty good. -----------------

There aren't very many game soundtracks from the last 12-15 years or so that have really held my interest tbh, but I do find myself going back a bit further to the 80s now and then, for stuff I grew up to. Bionic Commando, anyone?

The theme of Max Payne 2 really set the tone of the story, and is perhaps one of the best matched ones.
Mafia had an ace soundtrack too, the main score was very compelling.
Im a big fan of the scores in the Deus Ex series, especially the title track of Deus Ex 2, although it is way too short.
The Hitman games always had brilliant scores, especially the second game.
As for more obscure games, there was a 1990 racing game called "Nitro" which had a very limited but cool soundtrack.
Honorable mention: The Monkey Island games (1 and 2, the others I have very limited experience and no memories of). You can't say reggae is bad after playing those games.
Still, the king of all soundtracks in my opinion: Turrican 2. Killer game, killer score.
Griefing is to ruin a friendly game, which Eve is not. |

1)Final Fantasy III (VI internationally) 2)EVE (and not just cause this is the eve forum) 3)Final Fantasy II (IV)
And if being an 'original' soundtrack isn't a requirement, then Gran Tourismo 1 would be 4

The music within Deus Ex was indeed very atmospheric, and exceptionally fitting to that game. I do hope they make a third game, but more in the style of the first rather than the console cutdown version 2.
