The description of Margin trading says: "Ability to make potentially risky investments work in your favor. Each level of skill reduces the percentage of ISK placed in market escrow when entering buy orders. Starting with an escrow percentage of 100% at Level 1, each skill level cumulatively reduces the percentage by 25%."
But can someone here confirm that it is in fact multiplicative? Its:
Escrow Amount = Total_Amount*(0,75^(MTlvl-1))
First of all, I think its weird to have the first level do nothing. And then to have the effect of the skill NOT be cumulative, even though that is the established behaviour. Its double punishment in training it. Longer time and less effect.
Anyways; Just wanted confirmation that the above formula is in fact the way it works?

Check this post. (there is a whole discussion on the other trade skills too in there, if you are interested)
Hope that helps!

Edited by: Bring Cranker on 10/03/2006 23:59:24 Excellent thread. Just doesn't have total confirmation on my question - though the circumstantial evidence is building. :) But lets handle iot in that thread and get it stickied.

Edited by: Nesa on 23/03/2006 15:59:59 I believe basically what they're saying is:
Level 1 =100% in escrow Level 2 = 75% in escrow Level 3 = 50% in escrow Level 4 = 25% in escrow Level 5 = 0% in escrow
There are a few skills out there like that, where the first level does nothing.
Though, um, it appears others say differently.. I have margin trading, but not really trained it high enough to test the theory... All I know is, train higher, less in escrow...
Quote: But: if I have Margin Trading up to lvl 1 (25% reduction) then: -I pay up front the bloodsuckerÆs commission (the commission calculated for the full 100 Isk) -I pay up front 75 Isk. -When and if I buy the item, I pay the other 25 Isk.
Attention! -Each level ômultipliesö the previous by 0.75, mkay? So, -No skill 100% -Lvl 1 75% -Lvl 2 56,25% (NOT 50%)

I would recommend reading the thread linked up above. Cause it is not as you think or how its described. The skill is multiplicative.
To nail it down and confirm(this is tested and calculated over several levels), its:
Isk in escrow = (0,75^MTlvl)*total_amount

That one is the correct progression.
Awesome skill to have if you trade big time; the freed cashflow is a godsend.
