With my skills I can either fly a paladin or a golem, and I think a paladin would be best., if you disagree let me know. We never fly our expensive ships alone, only when we are quite sure that we are alone in the system and we have eyes on every exit. I would be aligned to POS and I'm pretty confident even with bastion moduel slowing me down, that I could be safe within 60 seconds, they would have to have a very large fleet just chomping at the bit to find an expensive fit and just swarm me. Which is possible, but if you're not willing to take the risk you'll never make money in this game. And I am aware that you should never fly what you can't afford to lose. The way I see it, a decently fitted golem (less than 500 mil in mods) could handle any C3 solo, I don't believe the same can be said for tengus. especially if you accidently **** up and hit a trigger at the wrong time. With 3-4 BS's all neuting you plus a handful of cruisers, I've seen tengus pop in seconds. I doubt the same can be said for marauders

I doubt the same can be said for marauders That is like saying a drake can't do C2 sites if it shoots all the triggers at once, so you should use a battle ship. The way I see it is you should use the cheapest ship that does the job in a decent amount of time, to make ganks and the like have the least amount of impact on your wallet. A marauder in a C3 is overkill and an expensive lose mail waiting to happen.

Marauders are WAY overkill for c3 sites. C3s are the most farmed class in game. New holes are always common. You will have people on you long before you can get Bastion to cycle out. You can't "stay aligned" in Bastion. Using a marauder to run c3 sites is like using a 14b nightmare to run level 4 missions. Sure, it's a little bit better, but you're going to be a major **** up.

Control your holes. Close or crit unwanted entrances, keep probes out and watch for new sigs to pop up. See the new sig, drop bastion, MJD away and cloak.
