Why is CCP keep fixing things that aren't broke?
I keep reading about all these changes on Chaos server that nobody asked for on these forums. And certain bugs that have been continuously discussed are still there from a few patches back?
Please, fix only the things the player base asks for.

Edited by: Bashar on 08/09/2003 21:04:38 Perhaps because they feel they should be the ones to determine what they work on? I know I know...your paying customer therefore you own CCP right?
Kinda like civil servants and tax paying citizens...you can as a citizen make a suggestion, and maybe one of the higher ups will put it into policy eventually...but try walking up to a cop and saying "I pay taxes therefor you work for me, now quit taking your doughnut break and go arrest that guy for jaywalking!" I think you will find they don't feel obligated to obey you or any other tax paying shmoe who feels they have the right to dictate how they do their jobs.
-EDIT-
Sorry just to clarify Kozak this wasn't aimed directly at you but just at the people in general who think they should have some right to have any say so whatsoever in anything they give money too..
I bought a copy of a microsoft product once...think I'll head up to Billys house now with a list of my demands! ;)
It's is very nice when companies do listen to the playerbase and make changes accordingly, and in the long run it often helps the company to succeed, but ultimately it is 100% up to them what they do.
Anyone ranting/flaming/throwing a tantrum over changes they do/dont make is just wasting air in most cases.
Oh and just to save a certain twit I know from having to waste 2 seconds posting...

Please keep in mind there are multiple individuals working on the EVE project. With the large array of skills and talents not all individuals can work in every area. This means one area may have some issues currently being worked on to solve a problem; other areas may be free of problems and can continue to work on addition additional features or changes.
Also, sometimes there are problems which need to have a solution derived before a correction can be made. This would involve through review of the solution to ensure it does not interfere with current operations as well as hamper works in progress. While devoting 100% of an individuals time might seem to be the most efficient, these are issues of intellect in which a break to accomplish something else allows for the creativity and excitement to flow again. There isnĘt much more frustrating than to be up against a brick wall banging you head against it, trying to find a way through, and to be forced to stay there until a solution can be determined.
These are people and not machines working behind the scenes.

I'm just saying that the game is now loaded with so many features that nobody asked for. I kinda feel i'm playing a completely different game then the one I bought 3 months back.

I think CCP just realized that they under-estimated the playerbase. Devs do this all the time, thats why we are all in Battleships and dealing out M4D damage with my 7 "whoopass" lowslot mods.
Its just sick. Who would have thought that after 4 months after retail everyone wont fight unless they are in battleships??? I was expecting battleships to be rare indeed. Guess not.

All slots are three (3) days from what I understand. The change was never implemented.

i can understand what kozak means *gonk*, *gonk*,*gonk*,*gonk*,*gonk*,*gonk*,*gonk*,*gonk* (1 min later)
so things no player has mentioned or complained about but they feel need to waste resources on adding in stuff *gonk*,*gonk*,*gonk*,*gonk*,*gonk*,*gonk*,
(another 2 minutes later)
the character sheet is another example.....

You mean like fully implementing boosters, implants, reverse engineering, agent missions, player vs. player missions, blackmarket, trade skills in general and stuff like that before adding some new bits of things like cloaking technology that will just sit in the code half-finished, too?
Nahhh...that doesn't make sense.

LOL! I hope I'm not the only one to get what the *gonking* was refering to in your post. That's the most annoying thing they ever put in the game next to containers that do not refresh correctly for other players (which I read is now fixed, can anyone confirm this?). The thing is the *gonking* is not a bug. If I had a nickle for every time I've hit Enter trying to get my next line of chat in, I'd have a hell of a lot of nickles. well.. till 2 patches ago i was really starting to think eve was only perfect when it was just launched.. (the patches released back then created more bugs then they fixed ).. i had a lot more ppl thinking the same thing.. its really great that ccp finally fixed some of the bugs (fix the damn buddy list!). But they should listen 2 complaints more often... --- "this song reminds me of the girl i met on a schooltrip, she was really nice, and she really liked me.
