Lots of people claim to use the Vagabond for Lvl 4 missions, but there seems to be precious few NPC setups for them on the forums.
I know lots of people think its blasphemy to use a HAC for NPC, but all advice is appreciated.
Cheers.

I use a fairly basic setup for missions.
5 220 IIs 1 med NOS II
10mn ABII (or mwd for non-deadspace) x5 web med shield booster II (or gistii if you are rich) large shield extender II
3 gyro IIs 1 PDS II (or stab for running away in close/instaggro lvl 4s) 1 nano
works very well and all the isk I make is spent on buying more ammo...

Just pick up the loot and build your own ammo.

Edited by: Lunarfury on 12/03/2006 17:06:24 my lvl 4 vagabond setup mainly for amarr/caldari navy:
5 t2 220mm AC 1 named medium nos
1 named ab 1 web 1 t2 medium cap battary 1 t2 cap recharger
1 t2 medium armor repairer 2 t2 harndeners 2 t2 dmg mods
5 light drones
Tanks bloodraider/sasha with just one t2 thermal hardener. I usually install a tracking enchancer for the free slot. For caldari missions, I use 2 t2 kinetic hardener.
When facing missions against minmatar fleet and angel/zazz/merc, I use shield tank:
5 t2 220mm ac 1 named mediumnos
1 named ab 1 t2 explosive shield hardener 1 t2 invul shield hardener 1 Gistii small shield booster
3 t2 pdu 1 named damage control 1 damage mod
1 web drone
Just fire a shot, let npc come to me, then head away from them at 15km range. Ceptors come in just web them with drone and pop easily. Then collect the drone kill cruisers while orbit closely to npc BS ship. Cannot say it is totally safe but never ran into danger of losing more than 40% shield yet. A lot of the times, I just sit there and pop them. hehe

Edited by: Lunarfury on 12/03/2006 17:32:32 Gistii small shield booster really is the most important of the setup. You can use t2 large shield booster but that you will have to use a shield amp and lose the AB. Honestly, just bite the bullet and buy a Gisii small shield booster.
Or you can just go for armor tanking with
1 named aB 1 web 1 t2 meidum cap battery 1 t2 cap recharger
1 t2 medium repairer 2 t2 explosive hardner 1 named dmg control 1 cap relay
Armor setup is much cheaper but you lose out on a lot of damage. Honestly, you should use at least 2 dmg mods on HAC, otherwise it is kind of a waste of the ship.

Using a vaga regularly to rat or run mission is really a waste of its abilities. Sure it can do it, they are many less expensive alternatives that can generate isk more effectively.

There's always one
We all know there are other ships that do the job better and faster, but some of us aren't interested in fastest and easiest! I have a massive garage full of wonderful ships and sometimes like to use them, whether they are better/worse than another is besides the point.
If we all had your mentallity we'd probably only see 5 different ships in the whole game.
Next time add a setup to your post or don't post at all, thats what this thread is for!!!!!
5x220mm vulcan T2 Med Nos T2
10mn MWD/AB T2 X5 Web Gistii A-Type large shield extender T2
3 gyro T2 PDS T2 Damage control (I think)

Hakuna
