What's the worst/funniest thing you've ever done in order to get home to change a skill or play EVE?
I once skipped an entire afternoons worth of lectures so I could change a skill. Got me a warning from the director of studies...but god damn it that skill was changed and I missed no skill time! Woot! Oh wait...

I don't know when my skills will change really. I don't keep track of it and I usually miss hours of training time. Probably missed over a month by now. Meh.

Got up at 0600 on a Saturday after a friday night on the ****, to put up an outpost. So Much Trit.
Skill training I'm less worried about - I've missed a few changeovers, but mostly swap on long skills when I'm away from the PC, so I don't tend to waste training. -- We are recruiting

Back in the early days of this toon I was out of the country for 3 weeks and had no long skills to set. Paid a guy at work 50 quid to change my learning skills in my absence.
Now, I just set long skills if I'm away and short ones when I log on.

In the middle of lecturing a class on first order differential equations, I logged on from the podium, changed a skill and continued on, never missing a beat on predator/prey models.

I don't think lax so much as over worked. Wireless network and my personal laptop. Even then, they have my Mac address and give me as much access as I please.

After the highways were changed, I warped to a now-defunct bookmark and found the gate missing. So did another...and I approached and cloaked like I jumped. Confused the hell out of him. Used the same trick in 0.0 when being chased, and they all jumped.
In the future, however, I wish to get a Mothership, recruit Noobies and invite them to put a clone aboard, then jump them to 0.0 and make them my mining slaves.

I once bought a ton of minerals from myself. I had put them up as sell orders, forgotten about them. I needed some missiles and didnt want to go mining for them, just wanted to buy the mins and manufacture them. Lost a bunch on just sales tax.

I knew a guy that wanted to go PvPing but his implant clone was way too close to where he normally hunted. Not realizing he had a full set of +4s in, he undocked and flew right into 0.0 where he promptly got podded.

When the integrated fan of my geforce died on a weekend only a few months after purchase, I didn't care about the warranty, cut the old fan out of the casing and glued a new fan to it, that I assembled from the usuable remains of the old one and an old cpu cooler. Then I continued to play eve.
( That one died again after several months while playing eve and the pc crashed a lot, so I've cut some plastic apart and attached a big old fan from an athlon cooler with some big screws to it. Can't use one PCI-slot now, because there is the big fan, but my PC had only a short downtime and I don't need that slot anyway. )

Got a class of Year 10s to halt their ICT GCSE coursework and discuss how game playing has developed and models real life
And for the example ... I had them use the excel mineral/mining calculator to work out my corps mining strategy and build times (of course, supplying them with all the data - I'm not that mean)
Took over 3 lessons ...

Rather than giving me a severence at my old job they said I had 6 weeks to work and I could look for a job then and take off as needed for interviews and such.
For those 6 weeks I forum *****d for about 7 hours a day and did about 10 total hours of work in those 6 weeks.
