I didn't go over there. I logged into my home station, noticed there were 25k+ players on line (another record?) and took a gander at the map to see if it was worth flying. The area around Jita was just a big red blob. I didn't leave the station, just did some station type work and logged off, so I don't know what the lag was like.

Damn, I had that number predicted for the end of March. I guess I'm out of the pool.
If you see my bookie, tell him to wait for me in Jita.

Jita is insane. I think I'll load up an alt there next sunday just to see what it is all these people are doing.
Its getting to the point where to have 100 people in any reasonably located empire system is almost the norm. Caldari space is particularly nasty.
I mean, we even had over 100 in local in KDF-GY not long ago.

CCP has permenantly lost the right to ever complain about lag issues in Jita since releasing the borderline stats-overbalanced Achura bloodline, especially when they could have put those stats on Amarr or Minmatar space, that have vastly less people on average

Its also becoming something of a self-fulling prophecy.
People are saying 'wow, Jita is the busiest system in EVE'... so everyone goes to see what all the fuss is about.
Its like a special Sunday Club.

My buddies and I have been playing for a week and we are all in Jita... 4 of us. Seems there are alot of n00bs like us in Jita as well. Don't know how the game decides where you start, but we all started really close to Jita. Just started a corp there because its so busy and has much potential with mining, agents, and eventually production. Also, its safe.

Safe except for traffic accidents. Are your air bags functional?

Lets look at the downsides:
- No decent ore - No NPC spawns to kill - High rentals for factories etc - Attrocious lag when doing anything - System often locks up
Why on earth would you want to be based there? It really is beyond me. When I was a week in, I found a 0.6 with no-one else in it, which was perfect.

I have no idea why CCP would even want to start you remotely close to Jita. If my first experience of the game was being lagged out for an hour, relogging multiple times before I could actually leave the system I would have thought Eve was the biggest piece of garbage software I had ever seen and never played it again.

I see it as a stepping stone for newer players, but once youre at 2-4 months old theres no reason you should still be trundling around Jita. Im guilty of running missions from Oursuleart (gall equivilent) due to decent agents and quick turnover of loot ie. could sell it instantly for a decent price. However once youre up to lv3 missions or advanced at mining, theres really no point to stay there, the benefits of low sec/0.0 are much better. Ill maybe take a trip in to a hub once ever 2 weeks to buy needed 'groceries' and sell my piled up stock.
Heres a tip find out what you need to survive day to day and grab youreself the BPO's to make it youreself and make it out of reprocessed loot/mined minerals. I cant see anyone buying modules en-mass on a day to day basis after playing for 2 months.

Maybe because they all have their assets in Jita since day one and are lazy to move? I know, I was one of them.
