Originally by: Trianus The overview sorting seems to be unstable - the relative order of records with equal values may change. At least for me equal values swap positions from time to time.
If you mean a 15km and a 15km object swap places that is because the overview functions in metres but instead of showing meteres anything about 10km is shown in Km. Consquently thats why they swap like that. I would prefere if things stayed in Metres right up till 100km :/
No, I mean when I have sorted by name. Items with same name swap positions.

Aha try organising by ship type, then by ship name. I think the overview takes into account your last and current way to organise it otherwise that is something I've never noticed before :( --------------

Thanks for the reply, when I get home from work, I will play around with the overview a little.

While we're on the subject, I'd like the option to view ship type in the overview. I know you can do it using 'mouse over', but it's a pain in the butt.

Highlighting an item in the overview used to keep the icon active. Then RMR came and the highlighting keeps the line active instead of the object.
Helps targeting the wrong stuff easily now. --*=*=*-- Megadon CCP wanted a well known artist and celebrity to test the new font so it's approval would be well known. They got Ray |

Originally by: Nee'kita Frist untick pilots with bad standing, untick pilots with good or high standing and no more neutrals.
you are talking about standings. standings are the numeric value of your corps relationship with another corp.

i am afraid that is just not true. people with 0.0 standings do not belong to any of those categories, so they will show nevertheless.
i already tried your suggestions from another post, but they do not work
Thats odd because most pilots will have some form of standing. especially if they do the tutorial or mine in belts and have to shoot rats which will raise their security status. :/ Or even go hunting or do missions or something. In fact unless the character is a industrialist thats heavily supported by others I don't think theres very few professional lines you can take in this game that doesn't avoid gain or lowering your security status :/
Standing is not the same as security status. It's your personal standing towards a person or corp or your corp's standing towards a person or corp. Therefore, there will always be plenty of neutrals which can't be filtered out.
tutorial and concord give security status, not standing. so you are effectively unable to remove neutrals (0.0 standing, not security status. security status is irrelevant here) from the overview

If I understand it correctly, the idea is: Hold down Control key -> Everything on the overview is frozen in place and stops moving.
Since you hold down control as the shortcut for clicking something to target it, I think this is a brilliant idea and should be implemented. -------- Tom Thumb > for a nut case you rawk [04:21:15] Mebrithiel Ju'wien > Nik's bio 4tw btw [07:38:53] Graelyn > Nikolai for Dev 108!

/signed Samething not being listed 2 and 3 times would be great too.

"If I understand it correctly, the idea is: Hold down Control key -> Everything on the overview is frozen in place and stops moving."
This was suggested in a similar thread concerning UI a while ago; a dev saw it, and confirmed it'd be at least considered as improvement of the overview.
(would rather it to be different key than Ctrl actually, since ctrl+click locks/removes lock from target, which is sometimes not what one wants when selecting the object in overview... a separate key like Alt would perhaps work better)

Just make it configurable. I'd probably leave it at control, as the problem usually occurs when you are trying to lock enemies as a fleet warps in so the list is constantly shifting, plus it's very laggy.
The overview causes a lot of lag also, like 0.5s pause when something locks you. That really needs fixing also, as being called primary freezes your client for several seconds at the worst possible time.

another thing with the overview is that it 'shines through'. Now, what i mean with this is that if your targetting something, say in an empire war, and something flies behind the overview on your screen - say a concord vessel or a nutral on his way to the gate - you will target him instead of what you just clicked on the overview. and with missiles and stuff flying left and right it's really easy not to notice and just start shooting anyways.. i discovered this while trying to target kernite and ended up with the station in the background..
