I'm just doing the SOE epic arc for the first time ever lol and love that the final rat of the arc is now flying a Gnosis, presumably a new change. It occurs to me that it would be a cool idea to have the rat drop a 1 run BPC for a Gnosis as a reward. it would be a pretty perfect time to give new players the option of flying a Gnosis

The model was there first, and then used for the Gnosis.
I do agree that in principle, there should be some way to replenish the supply of Gnosii (maybe yearly gifts?).
I'm not sure if the reward is appropriate for a lvl 1 epic arc though
I would argue that it is an appropriate reward, the gnosis is really only useful for newer players and niche PvP. As soon as you have any racial BC skills you're almost always better off in a standard t1 BC

I am fond of the lore of this game and therefore keen not to suggest anything that breaches it. What if you were encouraged by Sister Allitura to use an analyzer module on the wreck and thereby obtain the BPC? Surely the SoE would have a vested interest in obtaining information on SoCT ship capabilities? (especially as Dagan's Gnosis has such powerful shield regen for a L1 rat). Thoughts?
"Keep the Gnosis rare" is a ridiculous argument and runs totally counter to the spirit of the hull and the spirit in which I made this suggestion. Anyone who harbours that opinion, thank you for the free bumps to this thread because you are absurd. Narrator of Chronicles of New Eden, the EVE audiobook series. Tabris Katz wrote:Ok I don't think the Gnosis should be a reward for completing the Sisters story arc on the account that is not a SOE ship. However, I'm not apposed to adding something as a reward to the end of that arc besides the ISK and faction standing. I'm thinking an asteros or an asteros 1 run bpc. All the other epic story arcs give something tangable out so why not this one? Lets just keep to Sisters tech. Yes but Tabris the Gnosis is flown by the final rat, why couldn't he drop or make available the BPC somehow? My problem with the arc is not one of reward, I think it would be entirely inappropriate to give out an Astero. I was suggesting the Gnosis as a reward because it would be, in my opinion, the perfect time to furnish a new player with that ship.

You see that's where we differ completely. For me you cheapen the Gnosis by consigning it to history as a limited edition. Its value is in its use. NB, there were at least a dozen other rewards associated with the 10th anniversary. I find your and others focus on the Gnosis as a big shiny to be immature.

Let me be frank, this opinion of mine has nothing to do with expected appreciation of value for the Gnosis. I full expect to see more of these ships given out by CCP in the future. When I say "cheapen" I'm refering to the gesture of giving, not monitary value. My reason for suggestion an astero as a reward for completing the arc is because I feel it is a much more effective ship. As it stands I feel the Gnosis is flying slab of fool's gold. It looks shinny because it's rare but in the end it lacks focus and there for can be easily out preformed by more focused ships. If a ship is to be given out for/during the SOE epic arc then make it something that is actually useful. You're wilfully ignoring the primary strength of the Gnosis which is that it has VERY low skill requirements and is enormously flexible: two attributes which could be extremely valuable to new players. The Astero is an entirely different ship and I'd rather not even consider it as it has NOTHING to do with my original suggestion Narrator of Chronicles of New Eden, the EVE audiobook series.
