Without getting into too much detail it could add a whole element to the game. It could end up forcing rival corps to work together to protect their assets and systems from attack. while still looking over their backs.
Naturally these attacks would be more frequent on the outer edges of the Forge. |

Tippia would post something with an alt and argue against the alt if there was no one on the forums making some contentious statement. Most people viewed Orwell's writings as a warning. The harper regime and the goons treat them as a guidebook. |

You don't need aliens to create an invasion scenario, there is at least two races already in the lore that would be a lot more accessible/easy-to-swallow for both CCP and players:
There is the Jove who chose a life of seclusion based on some daft idea of purity or other. Whether they invade or the Empires invade makes little difference, although the latter is the easier sale as Eve is getting cramped and we need MOAR! space.
There is Earth. Humanity left to its own devices, struggling with resource scarcity and basic human nature. Probably has a Dyson sphere up by now to accommodate the overpopulation as well as a limited gate network to nearby systems .. now some mad scientist comes up with the jaws-of-life that reopens the Eve-Gate and hell flows through.
In short: Aliens at this point could only ever be seen as a Deus Ex Machina, aka. brain-fart from a writers-block, aka. a cop out, aka........ |

sansha, or at least his "citizens", are mostly abducted humans during incursions that converts them into will-suppressed, psychopathic, cyborg killing machines. think "the borg" from star trek mixed with the "reavers" from firefly. |

as far as lore says, they are all suffering from one thing or another driving them all extinct, Jove have their genetic disease that is their own damn fault. sleepers have issues with people attacking their enclaves, enclaves shutting down due to power failure, and if i recall they are stillg etting attacked by that one weird ass Deus Ex Machina style group (didnt that same group also have a hand in the extinction of the Takhmahl and the Yan-Jung?)
so if anything, it would either be the "big Mystery Guys" from wormholes, or to a lesser likelihood whatever is left of the Terran Empire. |

Most of what I wanted to say has been said already. The Jove are prime candidates to be the antagonists of an "alien" invasion, since their genetic tomfoolery has left them rather... distant from other humans. They may be forced to result to genetic harvesting in order to save their race. Guess who're the crop?
There's also the "other" shadow faction that has been briefly mentioned in some old EvE lore, the Enheduanni. Apparentely they're the Jove's greatest enemy, and no longer count as human although their origins are there.
And we're not dealing with a Fedo invasion, but a Fedo infestation. Too bad there aren't any half-capable exterminators in New Eden. |

The answer is no. Eve is not made for this. You want aliens go play sto then. Aliens we are the only "advance" species in the universe. There are no others out there. If the going to get aliens this game will be not the same any more.

I would also like the invasion to actually mean something. Everyone should be affected by it, pirates, mission runners, miners, traders.. all will have to fight them off or face destruction. After a few months, a one-time-only event should take place where a huge fleet of alien ships go to Jita (and the surrounding systems) to take it over, and it will require hundreds of player-controlled ships to defeat them. |

Well said.
An alien invasion creates an artificial US against THEM situation. EVEs whole point is that human nature is US against US.
Beyond that, did anyone really think the EVE wormhole just collapsed on its own? A superioir alien race discovered the Milk Way and recocognized humanity for the dsease that it is and eradicated it. The EVE gate collapse was a fortunate side effect for the residents of New Eden. At some point (hopefully far IRL future) CCP wil need to shut own EVE, on that day the gate will reopen and every player will effectively be CONCORDED by the aliens in one last firefest with no clone ressurection.
CCP does not make it very clear to new players what EVE is about. This may help: http://everevolutionaryfront.blogspot.com/2013/05/the-dark-arts-newbies-handbook-for-evil.html?m=1 |

Though I'd be attentive towards the introduction of reavers (yes firefly ripoff) type of invasion. Some secret science experiment gone awry, transforming ordinary people into mindless homicidal maniacs that bath in the blood of their victims as they eat their faces.

I'd go with eventually CCP hacking into Star Citizen and we invade their universe and take their stuffs. We then become the aliens. Now there's content for ya. |

Those guys are nuts. Pure and simple. All the clans are are nuts...Jade Falcon, Smoke Jag, Steel Vipers, Nova Cats, etc. They have, in the opinions of this capsuleer, become the extreme video game example of what happens when space explorers loose their **** and return many years later holding a block of c4 while claiming to now know what God wants them to do now.
They would be perfect for Eve. That said, be already have a faction in Eve that are super religious wack-jobs that have access to military-grade munitions. |

Not so sure about a bunch of honor obsessed communists (yes, for them everything belong to the clan, like a 100% corp tax rate) being perfect for the EVE setting. Perhaps that would make them somewhat "alien", in their outlook, but not inhuman.
And we already have our freaks with the jovians, which even the influence web in New Eden has never been really explored. But most of the potential of the setting has been left untapped by CCP, supposedly to not disturb the "sandbox", as if the game would be less sandboxy if the universe was richer.
These guys really have no idea of what a fruitful PvE is... |

Once upon a time it seemed like EvE was heading to a big showdown with the Jovians. For some reason that fell off the map.
Unless your thread is limited to how 'awesum!' Eve Online is, ISD will lock the thread.-á You will find it is particularly common if CCP might have to make a public response to the thread subject, as opposed to bury it in the GM que for the forseeable future and then prohibit telling anyone what the GM said, if it's ever answered at all. |

That was never, at any point, foreshadowed.
With the exception of Amarr's failed invasion, the Jove have never fought against any of the empires and have gone out of their way to create CONCORD and help them.
Do you know why the Jove exist in EVE Lore?
It's to keep you asking questions like this. |

Everything is static on EVE, even the supposedly dynamic stuff. What you are asking is what I expected from incursions, random, can happen everywhere and progressive attacks. Which at some point people will need to respond too, incursions just turned out to be another form of missions.
I often proposed simple changes to make even the 5+ year old repetitive mission more entertaining and dynamic....never happened. No adaptive behavior, like changing ammo and/or range, no random (even if just out of a small set of templates) versions of missions that have different optimal tactics.
Anyways, I hope they eliminate everything that screams grind. That means passive standings, repetitive missions, lack of wonder in just about everything. Wonder was what got me into eve, it was big, new, tons of things to explore, deadly and harsh at every stage.
If they ever going to do real invasions, what the OP suggests, is what i want, all out war where everyone is needed to fight or to supply for the fight. Surely the aliens cannot win, that would be end of game, unless CCP thinks of something really masterful. But either way, the invasion should have pervasive effects that players WANT to fight. Add discoveries about their origen over time, not in terms of events or CCP news, but things that players can discover in wormholes etc. Slowly over the course of a year or more generate a picture and better means to fight the invaders. It would be brilliant! |
