Ok I'll admit it, i love reading these forums and having a good laugh at all the dumb things that we all do
Lets face it we are all guilty of doing something that we later said "well that was dumb"
I want to hear all your stories, lets have a laugh and maybe some of the newer players can learn from our silly mistakes.
Mine, well it happened a long time ago.
I was out in Immensea and it was the XA and CA war.
The previous night i had been on gate guarding duty with a few friends and it had gotten late so i logged off.
The auto warp flew my Moa away from the gate and i was finished for the night.
The Next day i get a message on MSN from a corp mate, CA were gathering up to attack.
I log in right away.
This was my downfall, i never thought to ask where CA were gathering.
Thats right you guessed it...
..I log in and auto warp to the gate to meet 20 CA members.
*POP*
I learnt my lesson that day, check your surroundings if you are logging into a hostile area.

A couple of wks back lex xxx and myself decided to pin down egg a little. After not alot of action and a bottle of wine I was ready to fight anyone.
We hear of a mixed ship blob in siseide of about 12 ships hugging the gate so decide to go and attack them. It went well for a while, and managed to pop a few cruisers before we were both jammed, scrammed and destroyed.
The funniest thing of the fight is however after we had both gone boom they attacked my -1.9 sec status t2 hauler alt, and most of their fleet exploded to sentry gun fire. lol
Lesson to learn here is don't drink and fly, sure it makes you brave, but even brave has limits

After getting bored of flying Crows when I wanted to fly an Inty I decided to train up Gallente Frig V and get a Taranis. So when I get to fit it, I read the forums and see that a small blaster setup with plate is quite popular so I go ahead and fit this setup. I pay little thought to it and fit exactly as the forum suggests - with 3 Light Ion Blasters and 1 Small smartbomb for drone protection or something.
So I'm in a war and take the ship out scouting on the first day. Low and behold, I spot a ferox at a gate and attack. F1, F2, F3 & F4 pressed I'm in attacking him and orbitting. Then up pops the "You've committted a crime" etc etc. I can't figure out what's happening - Concord are blowing my shiney new taranis to bits. Just as I'm about to file a petition saying I was attacking a legitimate war target, I check my logs.... Appears that the enemy was sitting right on top of a concord ship at the time and I was happily smartbombing concord :P Ah well - lesson learnt !

So last night, i`m doing a little pirating in my home area, i attack a ferox in my wolf, he dual nos's me and pounds me esuring my questionable tank didn't last very long at all.
i warp away to a safespot and repair my armor, then decide to go fit a better tank and come back and kick his ass.
so i click my instadock to the station. mid warp i realise omg wtf have i done, i`m still criminally flagged i`m going to get pwnt. I Consolemyself thyat i have an insta dock so i`ll be alright i`ll be in the station before the guns can target me.
Ive insta docked before while flagged and never had a problem this time however i hit the station and get bumped like 13k away from it.
so do i warp away before the guns can own me? clearly not i slowboat to the station and get owned my the sentries.
bye bye wolfy.

I lost my 2 day old blackbird with ecm multispec IIs to the same thing. We had just killed a brutix and I saw another target but I wanted to change ship. A gang member decided to warp scramble me for fun so I ECM'd him and used the instadock. Got out of warp and got the "docking request denied".. Crap.. I made the mistake of trying to warp. If I had waited off the invuln timer I would have been able to dock.

When I was pirating in a Claw about 6 months ago I did the common stupid thing. I was actually in a mini squad trying to chase down this typhoon who was tooling us. It was a 0.3 system or something and he was running around. I chased him to a gate and he warped off. So I sat on top of the gate, while we all were smacking in local. He insta to the gate and jumped out. Guess who followed. It was a 0.5 system and I had -5.5 or so security. I tried to make it! =(
Another which was recently. I was in my 6 point stiletto jumping into a chokepoint. Warped to the gate and obviously got caught in a warp bubble. No problem really, most of us are trained to get out of stuff like that. I was on the phone at the time listening to my fiance blabber on about girl stuff. God I hate girl stuff. So I hit my MWD and was moving out of the bubble. Really no fear being I prob make it out in time before I really got sniped hard. So I'm out the bubble all is cool but my fiance is talking so much and distracting me, and so I didn't warp out. I stayed straight and got sniped by Celest Apoc. When I should of warped out... Last time I talk to females and pvp at same time.

Yesterday I jumped into a system knowing that a huge G/IRON/RZR/FATE./CELES fleet was waiting on the other side (it was during the fleet battle) and my Maller was destroyed by 9 BS and a HAS before I warped and without being tackled

Forgot to align to somewhere while guarding a few corp miners, in a raven.
Also wasent watching local closely (!), since I was multitasking, and got pwned. :)

I was in my Brutix, just jumping around trying to find a nicely populated low sec system. I had been using my autopilot so far, but decided to turn it off and pick a gate at random for fun. My logic skills are somewhat questionable when I haven't slept for a while.. Of course I jump into a 0.5 system. My sec status is about -5.5 or so. Damn it! So I think, "Ah, might as well eject and get it over with". Again, tired logics ftw.
So I sit there, in my pod, watching my Brutix take round after round of fire.. FOREVER. And that was without the repper running or my armor compensation skills affecting the 3 membranes i had fitted. After a minute or two it starts to become very obvious.. "I would SO have made my way back to the gate!" I even had a MWD..
I was lucky though, most of the t2 stuff survived and was later retrieved using an exequeror. I was only back a couple of mil.

Some of the many mistakes we made so far:
- Gangwarping to a gate while still flagged;
- Get killed, purchase and equip your ship in record time and undock while still flagged;
- Typing 'I found xxx at belt y-3' in Local instead of gangchat;
- Accidentilly locking and firing on a gangmate;
- Knowing a certain opponent is fully set up to kill you, but still have a go at it;
- Knowing that lone industrial lieing in a belt is a trap, though still try and pop it (we got away from that one though);
- Thinking my Punisher can tank another volley of a sniper Pest or that at least your pod can still jump through a gate (apparently you get a 20 second delay after your pod is launched from your destroyed ship);
- Going AFK at simple safespot and wonder why your in a station when you return;
- Going back to the clone bay and realise the low sec station your clone is in is bottled up by a high sec system which you need to go past.
Then again, we are the Sanguine Legion. Most of us have been playing for less then a month. What is your excuse?  .

done some of the above..
But my dumbest..
Forgot to move my clone from a high sec system...
Got podded and woke up in a system a long way away from any ship... Bought a shuttle.. waited till aggro timer was up , undocked and POOOOOOF no shuttle,
and with a -6 sec rating and bounty it was a long pod trip to low sec to get a ship to get me home
Thought i would see how my brand new ferox stood up to gate sentries..
warped to gate , aligned with planet.. got up to speed shot at billboard ..... waited until alomost out of shields hit warp...
straight to 15k's off a station
podded off to home station collected the insurance money and ordered yet another ferox..

Today,
Killed a covetor in a belt, while being shot at by a sniping bodyguard I recover the loot and fly off, forgeting that I was in low sec I charted a path out of the system and clicked AP.
Zooom the sentry guns open fire at this point I was still thinking I was in 0.0 and I am thinking wow thats one awesome damage gate camp, considering I was MWD in a claw and I could only see one ship.
I live and jump to the other side only for the AP to drag me out of warp and sentry opening up taking me into hull, but I still stay alive only to realise that the AP was taking me to the next gate.
That warp tunnel was the longest one Ive ever been in.....
Luckly while sentries were shooting me at first gate I started running my repz, so I had v.lil cap, I pull out of warp midway...

... aproaching a 0,6 system gate while traveling with autopilot, I found my bc attacked by a few baby npc rats. Instead of turning on the afterburner I was hitting the smart bomb button. Then everything turned red...
I really dislike smartbombs since that day.

I really dislike long warps, so when I took advantage of power of 2, I really didn't want to travel the 28 jumps or so in a noobie frigate to join up with my main. Went out of station, found some random with a maller and asked him to pod me (having set the clone for the station i wanted to go to).
He duly did, and got massacred by sentry guns in the 1.0 system - guess i forgot to mention that bit, didn't i.....

Not PvP related but i was once in an apoc in 0.0 chaining a dual 1mil BS spawn and forgot they respawned if you left one, so i let the tank go and went to read the forums.
Heard missile explosions through my speakers, came back on to find myself in hull... a few seconds later i died.
Another time i was PvP'ing in low sec in my ishtar and was going to scout out a gate before going to it at 15km.
Sun Ra was there about 15km away in a tempest, seeing as we were 100km from the gate i thought he had howies fitted and was sniping.... so i engaged.
Started nossing and released the drones, a few minutes later he was ripping my tank apart and i was out of cap.
Looked like he had AC's and a few heavy nos, i didnt stand a chance

While in the midst of an empire war after successfully taking out 2 ships of the enemies with another 2 sitting inside station we were camping away.
I'm sitting in my domi and one of the hostiles undocks - i try to target (not using the overview - silly me) and an npc hauler undocks at the same time... well I blast away at the npc hauler and the sentry guns have their fun with me.
After that I dock and get in my ishkur and undock thinking i'll rejoin the camp... kaboom - ishkur dead as timer still running.
Then there was that one time I shot a concord billboard in 0.4 space in my brutix... managed to warp away and foolishly went to an npc station where they finished off the job that the gate sentries had started!

Cause one of My stupid thigs was trying to reach the gate in old man star when realised it was heavilly camped (spathi above knows someting about that, heck he was in my kill rights list for close to 3 months before they fixed that bug ).
I used mwd, which was bad considering my rax was fired upon by BS's and 3km from gate went 'pop'. i instantly jumped in my pod
Of course the whole thing was stupid, as I'm sure I could have just warped away staying in system.
P.S. even more stupid was that later me and some other guys decided to bravelly break that camp using 1 BS + assorted small stuff against their 4-5(?) BS's and not being very discreet about it  . We got our a$$es handed to us, packed our pods and called it a day

One night, I was helping out a friend mining while we were just disuccing things in gang chat. I was in a Ferox with 5 miners and 2 heavy missile launchers, he was in an Ospray. I would go get my Iteron and pick up the can when it got full enough.
Soon enough, a Vexxor came up and took some ore out of the can. Being sleepy and not thinking very well, I fire at it with my two launchers. Turns out she was wanting that, scrambled, and webafied me, launching all her drones. It was actually a really long battle, took her a long time to get through my shields, but I got her to structure before she was able to pop me.
She wasn't able to target my pod in time, and my buddy managed to get what I dropped (which, being badly equipped, was about 100 missiles and a few mining lasers )
End lesson: Don't fire at anyone when it's 1 a.m. and not fit for combat.

My dumbest thing in EVE has to be the time me and corpmates went mining in lowsec for like the 3rd time, then I went afk for about half an hour to help a customer only to return to see a "times up" in local and my megathron (the second battleship of my corp and the third in total we had at that time) in deep structure :D

Apparently, was flying towards a sniperd gate with my half fitted Punisher. It went 'pop' and my pod, in range of the gate said 'blablabla need to wait x seconds for using it' (sorry, didnt copy the exact text). Was a bit suprised bout it. Couldnt give a damn about my ship or pod, but I needed to get to that next system damnit!.

ive not done summin real dumb in a long while only a small error in judgement recently
Lost a Pilgrim to a very deviant tactic tho.
Megathron "mining\npcin" in a belt i had support about it took me awhile to transverse 70km but once there i decloak only to have myself scrambled and wtfpwned by 7 of this gents corp friendly buddies.
He told me earlier he didnt even know i was in a pilgrim but he did get me good.
ecm + stabs on my next pilgrim  still too expensive to lose.

I have done some of the above and i have learned from my mistakes, however i like the ppl who smack talk you in local and brag to you that they are protecting a mining barge with their bs. They must think they are safe cos they have a bs escort, they forget that the poor dude in the mining barge can be taken down in less than a few sec in a bs or bc.
I once had two ppl smacking talking me in local and saying they would kill me if i got close to their mining barges as they where protected by two bs. I thought to myself if only i could upset them, so i warp in on them in my BC which was tanked to the Hilton. I locked my first target on one of the barges and started firing, one of the bs starts firing but the other bs warp off, I thought to myself wtf  but then the secound barge locks me and send his drones upon me. As soon as i took out the first mining barge I started firing on the secound puff up in smoke excellent I turned and went into warp, as i went into warp the secound BS drop out of warp but to late to help. Hehe how dum can you get never smak talk a pirate in local and never tell him what you are doing as if he's like me he will go for it.
Another trick i do with noobs in 0.4 to 0.1, is when he or she gets their first bs or bc i try and get them to aggress me in my indy, some small smak talking may be involed in this, when they have aggressed warp back to the station. Then say the following in local "what have you done to me I am stuck 15km off the station and i can not move", with that you see a big shine new bs or bc warp in on top of you. I then warp scamble them and let the sentrys do the rest. You have to try this it so works. lol ps Gerper and Mya have some of the simplist ppl in the game plus theirs always a barge or two plus you may even get a HULK.

Oooooh Mine happened quite recently !
I was dual accounting, using my laptop in one system and main computer in another.
Exuro mortis were cruising around on their normal "merc on a power trip" run, when I saw local Burst up with 20 new members.
I bellowed to everyone in system to get safe or dock ,which ever their preference and everyone obeyed. All were safe or docked as per request. I then Took my eyes off The screen to look at my main (TuRtLe HeAd) to find this arazu next to me on the overview. I thought WoW Great Safespot busting skills that took no time at all. Next Thing I knew those 20 members were all in system buzzing around me like a swarm of hornets, Needless to say my Faction fitted Diemos held up quite well taking down one person in the process (Crusader). I was fitted for NPCing had only Thermal and Kinetic Hardners onboard.
Well the swarm buzzed and stang like buggers and eventually my Diemos and Pod were no more.
I also realised that the Uber Safe Spot I was Sat at for the last 1 hour was infact a Stargate, But then that serves me right for not paying attention.

Dumbest thing I've done is probably warping to a random moon to scan system and landing on a POS.
Yeh, I'd like to say I've learnt my lesson but it's happened 3 times now. Damn those moons.
