Seems par for the course on everything to be perfectly honest.
Kind of reminds me of an analogous RL situation:
-There was an international exchange program. Some visiting people were placed in cities. They got good salaries, but had to rent apartments. Some people were placed in rural villages. They got the same salary, but the village governments often gave them a free place to live. An old house or something. It was kind of a perk for having to live out in the mountain boondocks.
-"Not fair!" yelled the exchange visitors in the city. "We have to pay rent, but the guys out in the country don't. We want free rent too."
-The national host government hadn't budgeted for free apartments for every one. It had only budgeted for (good) salaries for them. So to shut everybody up, it had to require that the villages also charge the visitors rent. So now everybody had to pay.
-Net effect: The caterwauling didn't get the benefit for everyone, it just stripped the benefit away from everyone.
-Morale (and as they say in the law profession): No good deed goes unpunished.

CCP does not owe you an explaination for their actions. No matter how stupid they may have been. The fact that a majority of people on these forums seem to think otherwise is, by definition, entitlement mentality.
I've said this before and I'll say it again. CCP is not some government that has to account their every action to its people. It's a company like any other in the world and you are its customer. Yes they ****** up. We know it, CCP knows it. Just because they didn't publicly acknowledge it doesn't mean they ignored it. Deal with it and move on already.

it's been resolved. the gtc loophole got closed, no more stuff is being given away for now, and navigator is gone. but i don't think we're ever going to see that survey or another official response. |

well, there aren't going to be any repercussions for what some referred to as *redacted* because of the 'special relationship' between somer and ccp, so people that were calling for somer to be sanctioned are going to be disappointed. there will be no consequences for the multiple hundred thousand irl dollars that somer made by bundling isk credits with gtc purchases, as it was all legal at the time. while it has been resolved in the sense that there is no longer a loophole to take advantage of and the flow of free ships and other stuff has stopped, there is no closure in the sense that ccp basically said 'brb getting pizza' and abandoned and unstickied the threadnaught. we never saw that survey either. it's pretty clear they just want this to go away, so i doubt we'll get another response.
i've seen his videos too. judging by the nature of his piloting, i take it that his 'beating' eve in a week refers to the grace period they had in which to give out 1bil+ bonuses before the affiliate rules were changed. lot of gtcs were sold using his site during that period. i'd say that's winning at eve  |

I'm guessing it has to do with the massive bounty that was put on his head.
