I know a lot of people say you shouldn't just jump into your first battleship just because you trained Battleship 1 without having some skills to pilot it. With this in mind, I'm trying to come up with a skill gameplan in order to get ready.
Right now, I'm working on skills to make me better with my Ferox, so I'm going for shield, missile, and cap skills. Any other suggestions on essential skills for battlecruisers and, to a greater extent, battleships?

Edited by: Andril on 17/03/2006 23:04:48 I suggest you have:
Drones 3-4 Supporting Drone skills 3
Electronics 4-5 Target Painting 2-3 EW 3 Long range targeting 3 Sig Analysis 3 Targeting 3 Electronics upgrade 3
Engeneering 4-5 Energy Mgmt 3-4 Energy Grid upgades 3 Energy System operations 3-4
Sheild skills 3-4
Missile Launcher Operation 5 Cruise & Torps 3 Supporting Missiles skills 3 Weapon upgrades 4
Nav 4 AB 4 Evasive Man 3 Warp Drive operation 3
Battleship 3
Getting Mechanics 4, Hull upgrades 4, and Repair systems 3 are quite usful so you can armor tank when needed, but arn't essential skills as most of the time if you want to tank you would go with sheild tanking.

To build on what Andril posted (who pretty much took all the skills I was gonna list right outta my mouth), if your focus is going to be on mission running with your Raven, once you're in it, stick with the missile skills and whatever fitting skills you need to use the items you want (Engineering, Elentronics, Weapons Upgrades to 5 if you can). There's a java-based tool called Quickfit that's great for helping you plan out your configs too.
