I have noticed a large number of threads related to the Deimos/Blasterthron/Blasters and their serious fitting and damage output problems. In some of the posts about blasters and the blasterthron I have seen dev responses indicating that they A) know there is a problem B) are fixing it ASAP.
Have any of the devs commented about the Deimos and potentially fixing it or not?
Please no comments like "well if they fix blasters it will will fix the Deimos" cause it won't. The Deimos will still have an incredibly weak powergrid and speed/manuverability issues.

I'm curious as to why you think dropping the grid reqs and cap use on blasters wouldn't "fix" the Deimos.

btw, the reason the deimos sucks is because it can't fit a full rack of blasters + useful stuff. by making the blasters easier to fit, it can also fit more useful stuff. ergo visavis conordantly the deimos gets fixed

but then every ship that uses blasters remains a ***** to fit. like I said, it's the guns that are the problem, not the ship

he is correct though the ship is a ***** to turn, make her a lil more agile ffs

I agree, it needs it mass reduced, it turns like a Blackturd, but at the same time it needs to get in close fast

I wouldn't mind a mass decrease, myself. An agility boost wouldn't be bad but a mass decrease would mean it might even be viable to fit a nanofibre on there if you want to close faster.

Anything that makes blasters easier to fit will help the Deimos, the Deimos has an incredibly weak PG/Cap/CPU for a HAC (little more then a thorax). It also has serious problems dictating range (which is terrible for a blaster boat).
Blaster changes will only help this slightly.
However my question still remains have any of the devs posted about this? Do they even feel there is an issue (like many others have posted on the forums)?

The problem isn't the guns, it's the ship. A eagle can fit a tank + neutrons. A deimos can't. A ship designed, built to use blasters can't even fit ions with ease.
there's something horrible with that picture. When you see a Zealot can fit a 1600mm tungsten + still a rack of focused medium pulse laser II, when you can fit like that, it doesn't have anything to do with damage. It's survivability and a zealot will win all the time VS a deimos fitted like that.
You can't even dream of fitting a setup that will push out enough damage to kill a 1600mm Zealot with Electron II + mwd + 800mm II plate..

What Deimos needs is mainly a speedincrease. That it is 10 m/s slower than a Thorax is retarded. You can't be the shortest ranged ship while at the same time being the one with (almost) the greatest problems dictating range, and having a comparatively weak tank. (That MWD-bonus isn't an MWD-bonus, it is a conditioned cap-bonus).
Sure it could use a very _slight_ bit more fitting (Deimos doesnt gain as much over the Thorax as the other HAC:s do over their respective cruisers), but better fitting, and changed blaster reqs doesnt really fix the Deimos. 20 m/s more base speed would be bit on the way though.

A zealot can even fit 3 heavy pulse 1 heavy beam and 1 nos + 1600mm plate without gimping anything but the AB =)

If you want facts and figures, go here. I don't think there are many points that have not been covered. The main points are:[1] The Deimos has the highest signature radius of all the HACs. [2] She receives the biggest speed penalty of all the HACs and is incredibly cumbersome due to mass. [3] She receives, bar the Ishtar, the smallest overall increase in fitting. [4] Compared with every other Gallente blaster boat, she is the toughest to equip. At least the Taranis, Thorax, Megathron and Astarte can all use Ion Blasters with ease. A Deimos can't. The thread above is thirteen pages long with over 350 replies. One dev reply would make all the difference.
