the agent told me an interbus was stranded in a warzone and needing rescuing, well who was i to say no. i set the raven to battle ready after oufitting 6 cruise launchers, 2 150's for frigates, an XL booster plus shield amp, then 4 shield hardners with 2 BC's and 3 PDU's in the lows i thought id be fine. i undocked and warped to the location ready for action. i droped out of warp and alert bell rang out for i had 8 battleships around 10 cruisers and 5 frigates bearing down on me, after about an hour of fighting and warping out as my shields took a pounding i managed to kill the last battleship and proceed to the warp gate.... it said "serpentis base" so i prepared for yet another fight. after warping into this area i was faced with 3 groups of 3 battleships, 3 cruisers and 3 frigates. the frigates held me so i couldnt run as the "core port admirals" pounded the sheilds, it was close the shields gave out as the last frigate died and i had to escape to come back to try and kill the group. after returning i just decided to run for the research outpost and save the travellers, i must of reached the gate with 50% cap and full shields, upon arrival i was 4km from the tourists... at last my goal in sight i set course trying to dodge the numerous battleships and cruisers.... there was too many i lost count. i got to the tourists to say cant rescue them their gaurded, well i tried but just couldnt win i was beaten every time, so i ask fellow pod pilots, how long and how easy have you found this mission?? i was on it for around 2.5hours and have about 10.5million Sp's and found it too damned hard i had to fail the mission to which now i cant use the agent for awhile

I can finish it in 1 hour, 1.5 hour but i dont usually want to as it's a very nice BS spawning ground.
It's surely one of the hardest mission but at least it's rewarding and w/o standing loss (enemies abound anyone...)

That last stage isnt quite as hard as it may seem at first. On the Serpentis/Gurista WC mission, the blob in the last area is actually three different groups. Each can be taken out solo without aggroing the others...even though they are all 8km from you and each other. Just take them out one at a time.
You only actually have to kill the first aggro group in the last stage to collect the tourists, but you will have to wait 5-10 minutes to get the last 10 crewmembers to spawn. May as well kill the last two bs groups while you wait.
Screens of the Serpentis path: 1of3 Start...stay 100km away from the Gurista group and it shouldnt aggro. 2of3 3of3 both paths lead here.

I made the mistake of taking the Gurista path to the second stage in an armor tanked Dominix (currently 15 Million Skillpoints).
I was thrown out of Deadspace near an obstacle which made it difficult to realign for warp. Then somehow suddenly all 3 groups aggroed (maybe the drones did it) and I got lagged out due to all the missiles flying and hitting.
Worst thing was that I got warp scrambled and could not target the scrambler due to the lag and the massive amount of damage I was taking.
Pop went the Domi :(
I guess the Serpentis path is better? No warpscrambler?
And if you need 1 hour, do you kill all ships in the first level or just go straight through the Serpentis path to the endstage?
Last question: I have not gotten any security standing increase from this mission (which is not finished yet due to my Domi going pop) and I did the first stage Tuesday and Wednesday. Anybody has a similar problem?

If you kill or somehow evade the Guardian Veteran frigs you can run straight through the first and second stages of the Serpentis path. They are webbers but im not sure if the scramble or not. They do orbit close enough for a large smartbomb to pwnify them though, so you could perhapse just pop the frigs then ab through the aggro spawns while tanking thier dmg.
You will however have to at least kill the first group of Guristas in the last stage (the only one that aggros) before you can loot the wrecked Heron and retrieve the crewmembers. There are no frigs at all on the final stage so web/scram isnt an issue here.

Ok Abyss, i'll give you some hints considering i learned from my own mistakes
I use almost exact set up on the Raven except i use only 3 hardeners (2 kinetic and 1 thermal) for the last mid slot i use cap recharger II. The trick is when you jump through the first gate... DONT MOVE, If you move everybody will aggro you, instead sit still and kill one gourp at a time and don't release drones as it also sometimes upsets the rest of the fellows inside the complex. and last thing is, Serp side is a tad easier than Guristas. But if you do both, its a good chunk of change in your wallet. Ok there we go, hope that helps.

I use a moros, easy recipe easy recipe for lvl 4 missions. Make everything agro you. In low slots have 1 captial repair, 1 each t2 hardener, 2 t2 explosive ones. Cap relay in low. Whatever cap chargers in mid to support the tank. I like 2 drone tracking links in mid. In high, 2 tractor beams, a drone distance control thingy, and a gun to tickle groups into agroing me. I have 1 set of each type of large drone in my drone bay. I go to mission, pick best droens for the job depending on who i'm fighting. Then after everything aggro's me i kill all the bs one at a time. Then i go afk and let the drones kill everything alone. This takes about 10-15 minutes depending on what lvl and mission you are in. If i don't go afk i let drones work while i collect all cans with the tractor beams. The cargo holds over 8k m3 so perfect for any mission loots. I'm starting to think the moros was made for running missions. I just cancel missions that are not in system, lol.

I started this mission yesterday. The first gate went great. I used a Deimos and took out the Serpentis group first then the Guristas to collect isk. Then I took gate 2 into Guristas base and got real surprised to find myself stuck(I was probably scrambled, but anaware of that fact). I didn't manage to leave the area and got blown up. Not too happy I went 1 jump to get my Megathron. I came into the same area, and when I started to try and get out I realised that I indeed found myself being scrambled. Lost that ship too. Now I am still doing the mission and I am on a new day. My advice to you is that if you choose to go into Guristas base take the jamming and scrambling from the rats for a real threat. They are many and effective. Use a warp core stab and preferrably an ECCM against jamming that strengthens your ship sensors. Good luck!
