Just now I was doing my usual work, killing pirates. Thats how I get money in the game. But what happens is that some idiot on a beginer ship warps in and starts to take my loot!
he has nothing to loose, he is in a secure space and is on a starter ship so if he looses it he will just get another one.
Anoying pos, I'm starting to understand how miners feel about bloody ore thieves
His name.... Marcus Malos in a corp that means "To Better ourselves and the rest of humanity" and wants "justice for all"

Which is why I tend to collect my loot DURING the fight, as opposed to after the fight.
If you want it, pick it up first.

In all honesty, this is NOT a new type of thievery, its been around ever since beta, though not to this magnitude.
Besides any pirate loot in high security is not worth crap, hell the bounties aren't worth anything, its more of a nuisance then a hindrence to you progressing in the game. Don't sweat it, add him to the KOS (Kill on Sight), or to me KOS is Kill them and Pod them on sight and when you see him again in low sec..

so gather you loot up as you go then...
I really hate warping to a good killing field to find someone in battleship sitting 24km from the pirate spawn and picking them off without moving or trying harder than pressing the 'activate laser' button, then leaving 30 odd cans all over the place as he is 'farming'.
You want it, you collect it. unlike with jettisoned cans loot doesn't actually belong to anyone.

I think the word "gank" also has plausible meaning here too. Unfortunate indeed. My corp pirate farms with a hauler or two to pick up our loot. But if the "Lone Hunter" is your modus operandi then you may need to get inventive. Good Luck! |

I always collect while I fight, keeps me a little more busy during the long wait of pirates respawning, just that he is on a much faster ship than I am and I still reach over 250

Arud,
What kind of money could you possibly make killing any pirates in secure space? What's that, 1k - 2k bounties each?
Sheesh.

250m/s? You're farming in a cruiser in high sec space aren't you? Take that big ole cruiser someplace semi-dangerous and you don't have to worry about some Reaper pulling up and ganking loot.
I mean its like you want corporations to oblige each other like its sex or something. Pffft I would rather **** my enemy.- Rohann

Jettisoned cans don't belong to anyone either. That's why scavengers can make a living by emptying ore that other people jettisoned.

I got board from mining for a time when first starting. I decided to buy a rifter and take it out for fights. The real money comes from recycling the loot and the bounty second.
Once I went to a 0.6 space to a belt that had a spawn of 5 1.5k pirates at a time. My Rifter was equiped for distance, so it was hard to pick up right after killing one as it was time to take the next one while moving further away.
Well, and odd thing happened, as soon as I was about to finish the last one and collect the cans, they'd spawn again.
This went on for an hour or more. So I basically was flying in circles keeping my distance while fighting.
Soon enough there were like a 100 cans out there and still going.
I only have 120 cargo
Finally a BS ship arrived and he started to take out the pirates and I now had time to collect back and forth to the station and such. I told him and someone else to take what they can because I couldn't get to it all before they expire.
Well 20 minutes they stop spawn and I've made several trips. Then as they were all picked up sometime later the Battleship guy told me to meet him at a station to give me what he picked up. Somewhere around 400m3. He told me, "you kills, your loot"
So with it being a lot more interesting than mining, and meeting some kind people. I made who knows on those 1500 isk bounties and after recycling everything I didn't want I made an extra 450k isk. Not bad for someone who was in his first week.

You`re right and that was a very decent thing to do of him... but come to think of it... he was on a BS... so how much would he have gotten from such low lvl loot (compared to his ship value) I just hope there are more like him out there

Luckily I meet all kinds of good people. Met a gun at a Hunter/Deppy spawn point the other day who offered to take out the Hunters so I could take out the Deppie (I'm a frig fanatic) and even stand guard in case things go wrong.
It's not all scum that fly the Galaxy thank god!

lol see... What is the problem shoot the guy. This is in way the same as ore thieves.
Ex. While at a pirate place where 30k rats are. I was surprised to find a guy flying a Mommoth warp in. I though nothing of it at first. He then messaged that he was only looking in the cache cans(which didn't make sence to me they are empty). Then while moving towards my loot can I see him zoom in really fast then back out. Taking the loot but it was so fast I couldn't even accuse him of anything.
So to take precautions I told him to stay 15k from me becuase with his ship he could move pretty fast. And since this was a .4 sys. I targeted him and told him if I saw him move in fast again I would blow him up before he reach me(I was in a BS). After that he circle me and looked over and over in the cache cans and then left.

Yeah, I realized that the loot wouldn't be worth that much to him, but the time spent to collect them was worth a lot more. The reason he flew in was to do mining, but instead took the time to help me and when we were done the server down was near.

It's funny to read posts like this. It is somewhat like the other post a month ago about honesty.
When I arrive at a spawn point, first thing I do is ask if they want company. If they don't I warp away. If they do, I never touch the containers from the rats killed by them, and I always say "If you need any help, Im here".
Actually, I ENJOY playing this way. I don't know if people come and play EVE with their darksides, or if they show their true selfs when their faces do not show up, or if they simply like playing the griefer.
Anyway, I think Im going too far... but geez.
