If you are reading this post, you are obviously interested or curious about the possibilities of learning to PVP and 'experiencing all that EVE has to offer'.
Well look no further, Agony Unleashed's PVP University will give you the opportunity to embrace those aspects of EVE gameplay that you may not have had chance to explore as yet.
Sure most of the course information is available to all right here on the forums free of charge, but finding it and determining which of what you find, is usefull can be a right pain in the *ss. Besides how many of us actually read the instructions before testing new appliances or software anyhow, I know I certainly don't. This was just way better, actual 'hands-on' experience in low-sec, physically putting all the theory into practice, followed by a live-fire run into 0.0, as far as I'm concerned ... the best way to learn!
I did the basic PVP course last night, more on a whim and out of curiousity than anything else, besides whats 5 mill anyhow. This is no 'slap-up' course for the purpose of making a quick buck, Rells and his team have put a lot of effort and time into this. It comes across very professionally and well run and you will definitely get your moneys worth.
Thanks again to Rells and the Team for a truely memorable experience, I've already booked for the next course. Finally to sum it up in six words - 'Please Sir, can I have somemore?'

I took this course last night and...
Basically the most fun I have had in Eve thus far. Maybe even in any game... Ever. Add to that everything I learned, and the confidence gained upon course completion.
I would reccomend this to anyone. The course fee is nothing compared to what you get...
Get on it!

Edited by: Sever Aldaria on 20/03/2006 03:47:51 I took PVP BASIC yesterday. The reading materials that were provided on the Agony Unleashed forums were mostly about bookmarks and making different instas. Most of it I had already figured out for myself through expirimentation and reading the forums so I skimmed through it. I learned 1 or 2 things I hadn't already figured out. Though I learned much much more once the class started.
At the class, we had a total of 17 pilots all following Rells's directions and learning basic frig fleet movements. At last, we went into 0.0 for some live pvp. Most of the time, it was very intense, very exciting, though you got the feeling that Rells always knew what he was doing, like he always had things under control. We took out a Rupture who's angry corp came after us afterward and almost took out a HAC before he could run away which was acting as bait in a trap set for us. Its not till you see over and over how battleship fleets run away from you that you realize how potentially deadly you can be. Only lost 3 pilots in the total course of the hunt (2 kestrel pilots got picked off because they couldn't keep up with the rest of as they had cap problems and had to take our warps in two warps). But he gave everyone the option of leaving before going on the hunt if they were uncomfortable with the possibility of dieing.
I learned a lot about PVP hands-on, though even if I had already known everything that was taught, the wolfpack hunt was worth the 5 Million isk paid. I'd definately recommend taking this PVP course.
You can read these forums and pick up different things, but the only thing that I had learned from the forums that Rells taught us, was just the pre-class reading materials. Learning by doing however, is a whole 'nother thing. You can read and ask questions about "The Art of War", but thats nothing compared to being out there on the battlefield. You also have someone to ask questions and get answers right then and there.
Rells is a great instructor! Take his PVP BASIC class.

Hmmm...Quite interested in signing up for this course.........although having read the review by one of the attendees..and seeing Rell's affiliation...I'm not so sure now!
People may question my reasons but...
In the review it says about taking out a Rupture and angering a corp etc....sounds like piracy to me?
With regard to Rell's affiliation...much as I'm impressed by his organisational skills ansd obvious ability in PvP...once again...Aren't Curse Coalition pretty much all regarded as pirates...aren't they the ones trying to destroy Marginis?..Very tempting course but ..seems to much like piracy.

The rupture was in Syndicate, a region of 0.0 space that is the most brutal area in the game. Assume anyone there will fire on you and you fire on them. As it is the rupture engaged and destroyed one of our frigates that got separated due to cap problems and destroyed him. Unfortunately for the rupture pilot, the frigate pilot was trained well and gave us the warp in point before he got podded.
The way you act in 0.0 space is not the same you act in empire. Dont assume everyone there is your friend but quite the contrary. If they arent in your gang and arent blue, assume they will shoot you because 99.99999% of the time they will.

First of all you obviously dont fly in 0.0 space. As far as I am aware, CC is not trying to destroy anyone in particular. They are 0.0 combat pilots and that is that. They have territory which gets invaded and they kill the invaders. They go to other people's territory and kill and get killed themselves. As far as I know people in CC are not allowed to go lowsec ganking of haulers and miners and ransoming people. CC dont offer ransoms or accept them.
Second of all, you seem to have strange ideas when it comes to "piracy." I see piracy as ganking haulers or poeple while ratting in a lowsec belt and similar things like that. You seem to think piracy is shooting at anyone with a positive security status. There are lots of politics in eve with competing alliances and corps that want to take each other's territory; indeed the game is pvp right down to the market in Jita. If you are unable or unwilling to shoot because the person has a positive security status then you will have a very very very hard time in lowsec and you will never get 5 meters into 0.0 alive.
You should stop pasting black and white labels over the entire Eve universe and portioning them into good and bad. What is good or bad is often in the eye of the beholder. And in 0.0 what rules is nither good nor bad but force, tactics and guile. -- Rells

I can attest for rells patients, I don't think I have ever seen anybody who could gate camp as patiently as rells. Day in and day out and he is back again with the same enthusiasm the next day and the next.
As for CC being pirates. Pirates kill people for money, we do it mainly to secure our region of space and secondarly for fun. So no we are not pirates. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
