The landing page for the New Eden Open II is now live. Head on over here to check it out!
Please be aware that you only need to sign up if you intend to start your own team to invite people into. Once a team has been created, you only need to accept the invite sent by the captain to be placed on that team. CCP Gargant | Community Representative | Tournament Referee |

We are still looking at that option for this year. Last year there was little participation in that program and therefore we did not set out with doing it again this year. We will however consider it depending on how signups go and if there are multiple requests from the competitors about it. eSports Coordinator for the EVE Universe & Community Specialist |

A draw for all spots is the only fair way to do this. Everyone would then have an equal chance to compete.
The way it is, the richer nullbears groups can guarantee their entry and no one else will have a fair chance of competing.
Wouldnt it be better with a fair system that gave equal chance for good pvpers, nullbears and highsec dwellers alike to enter and not just the same old groups of cashed up bears we have seen in previous tornys?
There will be a draw for 3 spots out of all entrants. The reason why we do an auction is to guarantee that people are serious with competing. This is unfortunately done out of necessity since some groups feel like it is fun to throw matches, try to game the system and act unsportsmanlike. We don't feel that it is fair to other competitors or the viewers to allow those teams to join the tournament with little effort.
Hopefully in the future once the tournament scene evolves and we can offer quality tournaments with a much lower barrier of entry we can identify quality teams that have up until this point not been able to compete and offer them an easy way to join the New Eden Open and other team based tournaments. eSports Coordinator for the EVE Universe & Community Specialist |

There are length restrictions on the web signup form but I don't know off the top of my head how long it is. If anything else comes up we'll do what we did with XXXMitty last year and contact you to come up with a short version for display. I was trying to input two names - one 17 characters long (including 2 spaces, one dot and one zero), and other one 13 characters long (2 spaces, one zero and one & sign), and both were rejected. So I think the form length is either way too short, or it's a bit short and some special signs are not allowed on top. Is it possible to sign up with a temporary name and later petition the change of name ? (although that's exactly what I've been trying to avoid by posting here first) Thanks for the response.
Hi, sorry for the inconvenience our validation message got missing in the development process.
The length restriction for teams' name is 50 characters. But we only allow letters, numbers, spaces and underscore.
