Decaneos Center for Advanced Studies Gallente Federation 88	Posted - 2014.01.10 23:54:00 - [1] - Quote Okay drones have had it pretty bad over the years, Sentrys were a great idea but the change in npc agro has hurt the more mobile drones, but that aside drones have the fewest mods and implants and rigs of any weapons system. First: Rof module, this ofc should share the low slot of the drone damage mod. Second: IMPLANTS, every weapon system has hardwire implants to increase damage, rof, tracking and so on, why should drone users be excluded from this. Third: Boosters, yep no boosters for drones! Four: Proper damage rigs, Why the only damage rig we have for drones is sentry only i do not know, it would be like Hybrids only having a damage rig for Large rail guns. bizarre Five: Better choice of Faction modules, The fact that i have never seen a single officer drone mod on the market goes to show how rare these are, maybe its time for the pirate factions to start droping something.

Now, see, i know when you get into drones and pretty much anything to do with underlying AI behaviour things get messy, but i cant help but to think CCP could make it work. they've managed to cobble together more horrifying frankensteins than this, for better or worse.

At the moment drones are, if anything overpowered. So, a dedicated drone boat does good dps across all the different ship classes. They can apply that dps out to pretty damn good ranges. Why do you think that a large number off nullsec doctrines are drone related? Why do you think that drone boats are the PvE ship of choice? Drones certainly don't need any sort of buffing.

And maybe the future introduction of our own version of a drone bunker, which can be launched at the start of anything and give the drones a chance to repair a little during those long drawn out battles/pvp clashes. Perhaps I expect too much?

It's the only thing bigger ships have to ward off those damned frigates. A few days ago I was doing a L4 mission in a Golem, the frigates were starting to annoy me so I deployed my drones and literally within 2 seconds one of my drones blew up, I had NO time to react. (and I have maxed drone skills). That is going a bit too far.
