Got the lvl 4 version of worls colide from my agent today, somewhat confused.
Im my case i got it from Serpentis, Sansha vs the federation. The 2nd level contains a squadron of serpentis ships, which agro upon entrance, surely that cant be right?
I was curious what the general population uses as a tactic for this mission? The missions suggest running to the last stage, but considering the 1st/2nd levels contain scrambling & webbing frigs that doesnt look like an option for a bs or hac with speed mods. The fleet in the last level also seemed relativly sizeable, so gearing up for speed isnt really an option as youd never be able to get the crash ultra. Smartbombs dont work either, tricky bastards orbit at 7-8km.
The reward is pretty damn ****ty too, only 1 mill isk? I usually get 5 for just washing someones window. Surely it cant still be doing the balancing thing? -------

1 million ? Lol :) One word for you: respawn.
Anyway, seriously now, this one of the most profitable L4 missions. You do need a solid tank if you do it solo. I get missions from Caldari so I was against Guristas and Serpentis. I could tank them all, all stages, it just took a lot oto kill solo because I had to lower the DPS in order to maintain the tank. But if you do it with friends, it's easy.

The serpentis 2nd stage usually needs a warp out if done solo (equip a smart bomb or two to kill pesky scramblers/webbers); when you warp back in you'll be aggroed by only one grp. (It's fully tankable only with full officer faction gears, at least for armor tankers)

Since I had this mission first for my alt, when I got it for myself I wanted to do it fast and finish it. I warped in to the deadspace, I tanked my way to the serpentis gate, went through. I got aggroed by one group, killed it then just went to the gate to the research outpost (last stage). Nothing aggroed me on the way, gate was unlocked so I just warped to the last stage. There, even tho I was right in the middle of them, only 1 group aggroed, I killed them, looted the crew, waited 5-10 mins max, looted the rest, warped out, mission complete.

Love this mission it is my fave now. Made 35 million in bounties alone. I do main war room, go get the ship crew. warp out, drop off one load of crew.
Go back to main room, kill second group, go back for another trip to get rest of crew, warp out, dock station drop off crew. Wait about 15 mins.
Warp back in to main room, kill everyone again, go back to ship pick up more crew (just for fun) warp back to main room and go to second gate this time. Warp in and begin moving away from the station while killing those that are attacking me. Do not launch drones in this room until you have plenty of distance from the station (90km for me). Then pick off ships as they approach you to attack. This level takes a while because all the ships are elite AF's HACs etc. Be careful in there, as it contains many scramblers. I fit for maximum tank on this mission and for the last room, I fit 1 WCS because the aggro is very touchy. Lost a ship to it once, was scrambled, webbed and jammed all at the same time.
Great mission though! It is a challenge!

Just did it again last night, nice profitable mission
I use just the basic tech 1 raven setup and it works just fine.
6x Arba siege lauchers 2x Small blasters
Xlarge booster techII (only techII thingy on the ship) 2x Kinetic hardener and 1 Heat 1 Shield boost amp and 1 cap recharger(1)
2x ballistic damage mods and 3 power diags with medium drones
oh i do have crystal implants though so that helps a bit, but thas it
Reason for using tech1 set up is it's nice expandable ship which is easy to replace if lost. But it' seems to be doing a job so far :)
30mill profit a run, nice one pwease don't change it :)

I just solo'd the guristas version in my ishtar. Easier than I expected tbh. That ship continues to amaze me. Makes more isk than the GE. I went the guristas route instead of serpentis because it is easier and my tanks suits it better. Found out a better way to kill the serpentis guardian vets with ogre IIs. How I did it was targeted them all, then let the drones hit one of the frigs until the dmg seemed to stop (i think this is because the vets velocity and sig radius) then had them attack a neighboring vet until the dmg stopped. You just keep swapping them back and forth between the two till one dies. Works like a charm.

Joshua, like you I am gallante.I preface the following by saying I use a navy mega with a-type hardners and an x-type repper.
The first level is easy on the serp side, gurista side may need a warp out ( I use 2 missile bays firin defenders to close on the ravens).
Once first level is done it's a cake walk really. Second level break in is drone friendly and third level is ok. Important thing to remember is if youre a 'typical' Gallante take the serp gate and remember you can take it without killing all the mobs.
Best wishes

Edited by: Calprimus on 22/03/2006 02:46:38 Lost my Raven today on this one.
I admit it, not very expert on Lv 4 yet, but: 32M skills H: 6x T2 cruises (Wrath cruises), 2x heavy diminishing NOS M: 2x T2 Inv, 1x gist small booster, 1x T1 x large booster, 1x T1 shield amp L: 3x T2 PDUs, 2x T2 BCS
I managed the first wave, took the Giurista Gate. The screen was covered by red crosses. I made a mistake to hit a stucture, thinking to have got the place where the crew was. Instant aggro, tried to warp out, only the pod went out.
I have it still open, will try tomorrow. This time I will go with 4 hardners and much more caution. If I lose also this last raven, it will be a long time of lv3 again to make back the money;;

Repeat after me: Warp core stabs are good.
Yes, your mistake was hitting a structure but the fatal mistake was not having a warp core in a mission you're not sure of. Even with all the aggro, your Raven should hold its own for a few seconds until it warps out.

Edited by: Slaveabuser on 22/03/2006 14:28:14 I had some issues doing this mission (angel) in an apoc because of all the machariels and their damage and resistance.
However switching from infiltrator II to ogre took care of them pretty quick. Demanding sure, but not that harder than some other missions.

Any pointers on the amarr lvl 4 version?
I'm up agenst Angels and Sansha onthe first stage. There are 5 Serpentis Shadowcore Vice Admirals (sp?) in the 2nd stage through Sansha and a tons of Angels in the last stage.
I did it with some friends, but couldn't get close to solo. Both tank and damage is wrong in an Apoc, and I can't fly Raven (and they say they have it hard )

Lost a second raven today, this time at the first wave.
Tried with 4 siege and 2 cruise. Still managed to aggro both faction, and I don't manage to sustain the damage.
Run out of cash, it will be a while before I try this one again.

Ill take a look at why that serpentis squadron stumbled in there and notify their leader. They will surely be disciplined.
As for the reward, well if you want to complete it fast then it is possible with the right setup. The lousy reward should be testament to that as missions that are on average completed very fast are given a penalty to their rewards. But I've heard the bounties in it are what people are mainly going for, as it does have respawns (it's a warzone after all).

Edited by: Pakalolo on 23/03/2006 01:10:54 I'm 0/3 in a raven on that Sansha/Centi side. Those 5 Shadow Core Vice Admirals are nasty, esp with the scrambling frigs and nowhere to align to without moving toward the unaggroed group. Yes, I tried wcs.
and screw the reward the bounty isk piles up fast.

What? Only one group aggroes some of you at the first stage? For me, it was serps and a little later the guristas as well. Those bastards seem to specifically target my poor drones with their torps. But I just use Wardens and dock them once targeted. Works like magic but takes quite some time to finish a BS, well I need to improve my skills I guess...
Oh and to kill scramblers, medium drones work fine for me .. See, they are buggy - they sometimes forget to turn off their MWD prior to start attacking their target, which causes them to miss a lot. To work this around, quickly issue commands "return and orbit" and "engage" - they seem to slow down to normal orbiting after that... kill scramblers in no time then. Oh and I also have painters/webber to further speed up the process. The rest is for BS guns or sentry/heavy drones.

Does the method you use take in the account players doing these very fast in group and that reward dont get penaltized because players do it in few mins in 5 bs gangs?

Groups aren't taken into account yet, but on the flip side you also have quite a bit of players who like to take it slow which reduces the penalty. We will take gangs into account once the mission-gang system is implemented (which unfortunately I don't have an ETA on yet).

hey hey
i heard about this mission and i havent got it yet, but a corp mate invited me to have a play. soloed the serp area pretty ok. the aggro is quite huge but managable with a decent tank.
tempest (typical setup) HI 1400mm II x6 Cruise - Precisions FTW ! fury swap out for the doms
MID Gist C-type Xlarge EM/Therm/Kin +55% actives 1x invul standard :(
LOW Warp core cpu PDU II x6 -runs the XL booster for a long time :)
DRONE BAY Valk II's
TACTICS Valk II + precision cruise are good for the small stuff 1400 II's remove the BS's
warp in, align. wait till they start aggro before releasing the drones, then slowly remove the frigs, cruisers. Once the JIP is over, fly out to range and snipe.

I have been doing missions/complexes long time in groups just for fun and training for co-operation. So I hope when you implement gang system you thing following "flawns".
1) In partial support fit to help non-corp member in accidental situations cause concorded.
2) While dragging cans with traktor beams AND other corp member is with you midde of mission he gets agro if he accidentally shoots (again accidentally) your can. Wich wont hapend if you are "in area" from begining of mission (read when can appears in space)?
3) If either of those two hapends and we are cross supporting BOTH get concorded.
Possible solution is maybe another form of gang (gets no agro of shooting gang mates or their stuff) OR +10 stand causes no agro what ever hapends between so close friends.
I allso trust you in CCP do release gang system ideas for testing and development for us to make it better in the very begining.
Regards T Fool Ceo as shortly said
I just prefer that all have good time here. |

I have soloed the Serpentis/Gurista version a couple of times with an Ishtar. Well, the second time I did use a Mega to clean up the optional first room, it was quite a bit faster.
The Serpentis route is easier or at least less aggravating - no jamming. Inties die _fast_ when webbed, painted, nossed and hit with small guns and T2 Hammerheads. The rest are easy meat for Ogres (just T1). Get a bit of distance before releasing the drones to avoid full aggro, then get some transversal. If some BS gets far enough from all unaggroed ships, go to orbit it with AB on. Sentries can take care of the BS that stay near unaggroed ships.
Setup (from memory): 3*125mm II rails (I should probably replace these with lasers), 2*named med nosferati AB II, omnidirectional tracking link, target painter, webber, cap recharger, all named Med repper II, kin+therm hardener II, 800mm plate II, CPR
5*kinetic sentries, 5*Ogre I, 5*Hammerhead II, 1*med armor repper drone, 3*various lights
