Hope this busts your hustle.

True, they have a bit more skill. They try and at least utilise the "Tunnel vision effect" to pass that one off.

Scammers make it very obvious now. They should put it at about 1mill below average price in a well known system, and use pics/ names that sound like the actual ship.
For example a Comorant named "Ferox" or the Carbon Charon one.
It's just common sense... I ain't no scammer!

We can hope but I doubt it.
Catbutt has been around for some time and some of the scams are less obvious.

Its not difficult to spot tbh
Some of them also try to take advantage of the escrow campers too by putting apparently wrong prices up. This doesn't work either by the way.

Not everything that I sell is a scam, just most of it. I do not have 30 auctions running either. Every scam that I am currently running has worked at least once. I make around 500 mil ISK a week with scams, so it is very addictive and hard to stop. ----------------------

i don't agree. i agree we don't need 1,000 threads on it, but some people would do good to be educated on it. the less people that buy into these scams, the less of a market the scammer has.
i put up escrows all the time with the same price and same first letter or two the scammer uses. then in the description i call them out. i've done it for cat and also for Little Britches (a more obvious scammer).
scammers make me feel sorry for lazy people. always trying to make a quick buck without earning it. half the time they are creating MORE work for themselves.. ----- my playstyle is anti-pirate. what does this mean? it means you'll never catch me in a valuable ship and/or setup where it can be compromised. go on, trade your ammo for the scraps you'll get. |

scammers prey on the stupid, lazy and drunk. what we don't need is threads saying "there are scams on escrow" as though it was possible not to notice. what we need less are threads directed at individual scammers, because i don't want to crash the forum servers

point taken. i still think escrow scammers are pathetic. man will i be overjoyed if they ever release a filter system for escrow and/or market based on player-name.

500mil a week... I doubt it, but would love to see some proof of the stupid, drunk, and lazy who do fall for the scams.

I am not sure how I would prove this.
I make mistakes too. I placed an escrow for Mizuro's Modified Stasis Webifier at 30 mil instead of 300 mil today. I paid 150 mil for it. ----------------------

I don't know if they'd do that...remember they ran an entire full page bio in EON (can't remember if it was #1 or #2) about a scammer and thief!!!
But as in RL, if it looks too good to be true...it usually is

The only way you will be banned is for scamming on the website. Ingame Escrow "scams" are fully sanctioned by CCP, just like Corp thieving and lootcan stealing. If you, the player, are too moronic and stupid to right click and SHOW INFO on an item before buying it, then you deserve to lose your isk.
You whiney carebears finally got the little "are you sure you really want tp spend isk on this?" window box because people kept crying about being stupid and not having common sense.
Its no different then paying 1,000,000,000 for a raven instead of 100,000,000 isk. Learn to pay attention. I laugh at people who lose isk this way.

'usually' is a very good word. Your statement also means 'sometimes' it is not too good to be true. This is also very true.

Except that most scammers are alts, and well, short of imping my idea orf letting people see other chars on an account, you're never getting any revenge on said alt or their main.
