Edited by: Azuriel Talloth on 21/03/2006 15:48:14 I think they are sick of our whining. Can you blame them?
The podcasts from the LA gathering contain enough info to more than make up for it though
CCP Please rename "Warp Disrupt Probes" to "Interdiction Spheres", thanks! |

CCP is not doing anything on the Chinese server other than licensing EVE.

They are at a gathering and you can listen to a broadcast of what they had to say.
Surely that is better than the written word?

Really? To some extent I would say yes but it'll still need support resources surely. Why sit there struggling getting the damn thing to work when there are people who know how to do it. After start up I would say you can take your hands off. I would be surprised if there were no CCP resources allocated to getting it up and running.

i would think it takes a bit of work to keep things as stable as they have been considering the huge upgrade. they're probably a bit exhausted.
----- my playstyle is anti-pirate. what does this mean? it means you'll never catch me in a valuable ship and/or setup where it can be compromised. go on, trade your ammo for the scraps you'll get. |

Maybe, but that's not the case right now. CCP gave the other company their source code, I'm sure their programmers can work with it however they need to in order to get it to work.
Personally I'm more inclined to say that the reason the PRC server is having so many problems is because it's loaded with so many surveillance tools scanning for words like "democracy" and "tibet independence" and "human rights".

I agree. I rarely post on the forums that warrant any of my ramblings, but in the last year, this particular forum has grown to mostly whining. I don't know if the attitude has changed, or we are becoming a less mature crowd, but everyone seems to give their criticisms in an emotional tone rather than being clear and providing valid points to their arguments. The general discussions have spiraled downward dramatically since Exodus. And its a crying shame.
As for CCP's response, I can only imagine where they are atm, it's all hearsay. But it seems as though they've been on the road quite a bit, there are a lot of gaming events coming up in the US and abroad this spring. Marketing perhaps? Coding?

I heard they are taking (or already took) a small break after the release of RMR / Blood patches. Plus you got Las Vegas happening and they just updated their cluster. They need some RnR :)

Some of the Devs are currently in San Francisco, CA at the Game Developer's Conference. Oveur, ACTIVEAlli, TomB, LeMonde and I got back from the LV player gathering earlier this week.
Oveur is sick and expecting to return to work next week. He has a nasty bout of pneumonia and a very high fever. Personally, I just got over a little bug myself and caught up with my task list today. Expect to see more from CCP in the coming days.
