Simple way in Empire is run missions. Even level 3's are profitable, just poubd them out quicky, and get the relevent connections books. You'll want to get the implant offers as quickly as possible, as you can make 30-40 million isk for every 15k LP's, in addition to all the rewards/bounties.

There are many ways to make isk really depends on your style of play, with 2 mining characters and a production character capital ships may be the way forward for you, if you can mine the minerals yourself you can drastically increase your profit margin, although as you say the intial investment is huge, 0.0 mining? 1 miners, 1 hauler 1 Bs guard??
For a fighting character whether pvp or pve (the skills wont differ between the too) NPCing in 0.0 can be very profitable 30-40 million every hour though there is a certain risk involved. However i find the easiest way to make isk is complexes, with 3 characters and good setups you could net yourself an easy 200mill and hour in certain complexes.

1 billion an hour?
Macro miners have to mine in empire, and usually mine ice or scordite/veld, so 1 billion an hour would mean about 250 macros at once.
I doubt this

0.0 is the quickest way probably, you only need a battleship or a mining ship.
For example, I have a corp mate who is probably only a few months down in 0.0 and is very close to scraping the 1B mark from just ratting.

Have joined corps that promise the world, but I never get anything and give them mountains of ore (have personally mined out eight entire fields inside of six days - no, I do not macro). Then in a few months the corp breaks up for various reasons and I am solo again, like now.
Why would you give your corp mountains of ore? You can mine for me if you like, id take a few mountains myself.
edit : you should start thinkning about yourself. Why should you make money for someone else when the ceo and the directors is the ones you are making rich?
If a corp wants money they can tax you.

I've heard of escrow campers who make more than that.

I can see how you could make an easy bil here or there camping escrow, but not a steady stream of 1 bil ISK per hour.

That's because you don't make a billion ISK per hour camping escrow .
There is probably not one activity in EVE that can break 25-30 million an hour solid payout per character. That activity, of course, is mercoxit mining with a Skiff, maxed skills, and an indy alt to haul.
Its possible you could earn more doing a complex, but I'm not sure. You also might need more alts/friends to do it, which lowers per-character earnings.

I can tell you that T2 bpo's can make u rich like u never imagined. Other then that its good to trade goods to 0.0 where most are between 2 and 5 times the normal empire prices. Get a alliance approval and then make trade routes. Use your younger brother, sister, girlfriend/boyfriend or parents if necesarry. Let them mine, run trade routes

complexes. 1 week whoring complexes with some friends, if you can get access to 0.0, will net you at least 1bil. I know, i did it just over a week ago I haven't got a new sig yet :)

Originally by: Drainelle I have started to read that guide. A lot of it so far talks about going to low sec. I tried that a few times and have lost everything. Once I lost my mark 5 that was equipped with 5 locals. It was carrying two coveters with t2 gear and other stuff. I was podded as well so lost all 5 +3 implants. Six months of work lost in 2 seconds. Almost left eve that day. Still have not gained all that back to this day.
Try again.. 0.0 = lots of isk.
Thing is, try going out in a fast ship first make some BM's find a area where u can be at peace, make freinds w/ the locals THEN bring out your mining ships and a battleship so u can belt hunt.
ill give u a hint as to where to go. North = usually more freindly than south to nuetrals.

I have to derail the thread a bit.
Why worry about ISK? This is a game, do whatever you think is fun. If you enjoy yourself, you will find that it does not matter how much money you have.
I have played for a few months now (mostly running missions) and have way less money than a dedicated miner or trader would have, but I enjoyed it.
Oh, and being paranoid when in low sec helps keeping expenses down of course :). Follow the rule "Safespot first, THEN check who just entered local"

Or do a Burnhard Special: Safe Spot, Check who is in local, Warp to Gate, Get Ganked. Really, there is no substitute for Synchronicity in Eve Online.

Thanks eve friends for all the suggestions!
Guess I should have told you up front that my interests on eve is the business. Have been playing computer games since there were computers and one of my favorites was business simulators. Start with nothing and end up with billions. Eve is not only the largest business simulator in history, but it is also the hardest challenge I have ever faced. Players are getting rich all around me and I am just scrapping by with just trial and error guidance.
Like I said, my main industrial character has 20 mil sp's. Maxed out in mining, refining, ice processing, production, research, scrapmetal 5 a week away, 6 mil in drones for fleet protection. Having trouble finding him something to train now. All three of my characters have over 30 skills each at level 5.
Some tell me I should get into capital ship building with my high industrial skill points. Well it's not like I haven't tried. I can barely afford those skills, let alone getting into blueprints. I could just sell minerals, but that doesn't pay what it used to due to the macro miners clearing out the fields.
As far as corporations go, it will be pretty hard to find an honest one. I have been taken before a few times wasting months of work. Atm, my three characters are in their own corp, but its almost like I am playing a standalone game now :(
