Like a non-warp able area??? ex. You can't warp away till your 10k from station.

Ok, by larger, I mean volume-wise, to make em more realistic. Also they should have a docking sequence, and it should be skippable, like in beta....
And yes, make a force field that just bounces us off by 20k if we hit em.
like a "positron shield" or something.

What ever happened to Epiphany? I really am interested.
Also: I wish I could reduce my time on the boards, but since I am virtually paid to read them... I'm ok with it.

If stations were as big as their interiors suggest, you could fit a small moon in there.

Yes, and also, make it so you've got to dock manually in a 1st person view. If you miss and hit the border your ship explodes from the severe damage from hitting a steel wall at 200m/s.

If I could work out a means of getting ACTUALLY paid to read the boards, I'd be all set!

Well there isn't alot consistancecy in stations. Some are frillin huge, while others are barely bigger then a battleship.
... you will see more and more marketing which in turn will bring you more players to torture. |

I hardly think your dramatization applies to the request in question.

"That's no moon!"
Given you've already got a 20-30km journey *through* some of the larger ones (Quafe ones in particular) I can't say I'd like to see them any larger until that gets sorted.

Edited by: Winterblink on 11/09/2003 18:10:10 I believe the docking radius and collision model for that particular monstrosity is being fixed in in the/an upcoming patch. Thank god.

huhh? it doesnt matter your in space and you got sheilds and other stuff hehe...
i guess its back to the theory on how the shilds work but if they work in the most basic way then they could i guess in a way stop you from crashing into something?
you konw w hat would make it fun? if everything really orbited not stay still like it does now...
for things to crash they would have to have like reverse engines or thrust and the ability to move side to side etc.. and engines that can be projected in diff angles... so not the hole ship would have to turn and stuff, i mean even the new tech jets IRL can do that... to a degree...
btw i do agree they need to be bigger at least 3x the size of now...
what happens when you got titans and other stuff that is so BIG? how will that stuff undock?
if a BS looks too big to undock then those ? how will it work LOL support Idea: QuickInfo an alternative to ShowInfo

THAT would seriously rock!:)
Imagine EVE like it is now... but with a "space simulator" interface to fly your ship... Aligning your ship to the docking path manually would be waaay better than wait doing nothing for your ship to cover these 35km to the station... but maybe it's just me.:)
I think that a game like this coupled with a realistic space fly simulator (Ó la Independence warII: Edge of chaos) could wipe away anything in his path.:D (For us space freaks 'nyway!:))
